Angel Sanctuary manga has no more than 20 volumes….:)…
the anime bears a little comparsion…but I, personally, consider it a prewiew of the manga…(at not even a very good one)….

I luv AS manga, the anime is a big turnoff.
But it’s not a manga for everyone, cuz of the complicated storyline(s).
The incest stuff about Angel Sanctuary has never bothered me at all. They never seem brother and sister-y enough that it gets in the way of it being romantic.
I would have stopped reading AS, probably, and it gone on as the story of a brother and sister in love and disliked by their environment for it.
But then, volume 4 brought a lot of changes, and one was that the whole conflict between heaven and hell stepped forward and the love story stepped backwards.
And my favourite character (re)appeared. And a lot of other, great characters were introduced gradually, who all had their own problems and conflicts, and it was well possible to just not pay too much attention to Setsuna and Sara…
Hehe.
I still don’t like Sara. There was one brief moment when I did like her, but… tsk.
It’s true that the manga is much better than the anime. Not only covers the anime no more than three of twenty volumes, it doesn’t even do this properly.
Things are changed, characters are left out.
Rosiel’s first appearance and meeting with Setsuna was rather atmospheric and creepy, with the cables, dead bodies.. and in the anime, they simply pass each other in the street? Bleh.
That some characters and story elements are left out also means the story makes… less sense… and it would be quite impossible to continue the anime.
Setsuna’s earrings, whom he was given by Kira, for example…
Plus the whole ‘Angel Sanctuary’ thing… *g*
I wish the anime wouldn’t even exist… it only gives people a wrong idea. It ven looks UGLY.
