Well, at least according to this (http://www.list.co.uk/fiftybandsmain.html) site. We’re talking about Idlewild, who remain to this day the only band who I’ve seen live, back during one warm spring night at the Portsmouth Pyramids in 2002.

They’ve recently released their fourth album, "Warnings / Promises" which has an interesting array of songs from the calm to the heavy. I liked the album, but I’m crap at describing the music. I suggest trying it for yourselves. (http://www.idlewild.co.uk/wp-sampler/)

well, they got number 1 right. also idlewild are pretty decent and from what i’ve heard the new album’s pretty good

edit: if snow patrol are on the list how the shit did they win "best irish band" at the meteor awards?

I personally think Jesus & Mary Chain should be number 1, then followed by B&S. Ah well. and yes Idlewild are pretty good, but for some reason I’m not digging their new stuff.

edit: if snow patrol are on the list how the shit did they win "best irish band" at the meteor awards? Their singer’s from Northern Ireland so they’ve probably just lumped them in. As for Idlewild, the couple of songs I’ve heard so far don’t sound nearly as good as the last album’s.

I was going through that album sampler thingy a few days ago. I decided to check them out after I found I rather enjoyed that ‘Love Steals Us From Loneliness’ song that JJJ was giving some airplay to. They’re pretty good. I didn’t realise this was their 4th album; I thought they were newish. I wouldn’t mind picking up an album someday…add it to the growing list I guess.

The Proclaimers are also legends in my mind.

I didn’t realise a lot of those bands were from Scotland: Franz Ferdinand, Belle and Sebastien…huh!

The Proclaimers are also legends in my mind.

They’ve got an EP as well as four albums. I still need to find that.

B&S are right at number one, I see.
