FFXII Theme

Does anyone know who gonna be singing the ffxii theme? :confused:

composer is Hitoshi Sakimoto, guy who did fft. singer is somebody called Lia. but sounds quite s*** compare to prev ff themes.

i wish it was nobou uematsu because he’s the king! he’s great and everything. i also wish that someone who’s singing the song would be someone like faye wong cuz her song, "eyes on me" is really good, or someone like utada hikaru because her song, "simple and clean" is cool.

Does it really suck? Uematsu is hardly a first-rate composer. He’s decent, but there are much better out there.

yeah, graphics and gameplay might be good, but what if the sounds you listen as the gameplay goes sucks? everytime you’ll be hearing ugly composed music while playing and this might make you upset with the game while playing. know what i mean?

I was really happy to see Ivalice make it into the main series and to me the sound of Ivalice comes from the mind of Hitoshi Sakimoto, so i was happy to see him doing the soundtrack. Actully FFT and FFTA are most likly my top choice for soundtracks in the FF series, I really enjoy listening to them.

i suppose the new composer could b just as good! i just hope dat square-enix havnt made too mant changes, ok change can b good…but overdoing it…

i’ve seen a trailer of ffxii similar to this…….. and i guess the sound is okay.

Xenosaga II also switched their music composer. The trailer music sounded so good, but then when you played the game, crappy music everywhere. I hope FFXII isn�t gonna be like that.

The music will be good, nobuo uematsu is not the "god" of composing video game music.

I think I seen those trailers on my Star Ocean Story DVD, not sure, but I have seen them somewhere. Im gutted Nobou Uematsu wont be adding his touch cause he is one of my all time fav composers.

But it sounds ok, not the best Ive heard.

Yeah the FFXII trailer is on the Star Ocean Game. I couldn’t really care who composes the music for the game as long as it’s as good as in FFX and the rest.

the music for all ff games is great jus a shame that we in the uk have to wait so long for the games

I hope that the music relates to the battle or event like if yuor party is near death why not have the music in a tense or gloomy tune to relate to the battle at that time. =)

I liked the trailer but it seemed like most of it took place in a weird dungeon. Where are all the colors like in FFX?

I like the music so far for ff12, but that doesn’t mean to say its gonna get better =)

The Composer, as stated earlier, is Hitoshi Sakimoto. The main theme is done by Nobuo Uematsu.

Uematsu is nowhere near the status of being good. He is mediocre at worst. The best score Uematsu did was FFVI. That was truly a great score! But the next person who says FFVII was great, or Eyes on Me was breathtaking, or even One Winged Angel is great, they are going to get killed in their sleep.

Sakimoto, on the other hand, is fresh, young and unbeatable. If you hear the scores FFT, Stella Deus, Legaia Duel Saga, Breath of Fire V and Ogre Battle 64. He bares no flaws. He will blast every Final Fantasy Score Uematsu has done out of the water. Period.

Even small time composers like Chihiro Fujioka and Ryuji Sasai (though he is quite big even though he only scored 3 games) beat the living hell out of Uematsu.

And it still hasn’t been confirmed that Lia is the singer for FFXII main theme. Its probably not likely anyway considering the fact Sakimoto collaborated with her. Correct me if Im wrong about this statement though.

And the person who made the remark about the Xenosaga II music should actually listen to the music! The person who did the movie music for Xenosaga II is Yuki Kajiura (from the //hack and Noir fame) who, in my opinion, did a decent job composing the movie scenes for Xenosaga II, however, the main man behind the Xenosaga II in-game music is veteran Shinji Hosoe who has been in the Game music scene for over 20 years! Thats 8 years more experience than Uematsu! He did an awesome job of composing Xenosaga II’s music. Go Hosoe!

Ah, hello, I said Uematsu’s FFVI was excellent. Maybe you should read the post before answering. FFVII was good but HIGHLY overated. The rest of Uematsu’s efforts are decent.

Yes, I said that everybody here knows nothing about game music, but it was only ment to be a meaningless statement. You know, like statements you don’t mean. Im sorry if it offended you though. But people calling Uematsu "king of game music" really need to listen to some far superior work by other better and more inovative composers. That will truly shock them.

Well, there was a piano version of the song played at SQEX Party, but no recording devices were allowed inside the building. Just wait until SQEX releases the OST (which should be released early next year). Lets just hope fucking SQEX U.S.A doesn’t withdraw the sales of the FFXII OST for their crappy iTunes versions like they did with Grandia III OST. Stupid U.S.A >:O
