few questions

1. how many hours did it take to you beat the game?

2. what level were you at when you beat the game?
and

3. what would be your recommendation of level for clearing the 1st disc?

1. i don’t know. i lost count, and i don’t wanna go back to my ps2 and open the game just to see how many hours did it take me to beat the game. it doesn’t really matter anyway, as long as you have fun, and i sure did have fun playing this one.

2. all of my characters were 100 (and so are the monsters in the game)

3. i don’t really know, oh well…

well right now Im lvl 42, Zell is 31, and Selphie is 30, and Q is lvl 56, Shiva is 50, and Ifrit is 42, and Siren is 25 and i just became a seed

just wondering if that was a good start out

Scarface920, with the levels you have, you could beat the game. Sounds to me like you’re incredibly overleveled actually. Of course, as anyone in this section will tell you, levels aren’t really the most important thing in FFVIII. Are you drawing good magic also? Are your items and junctions good? Incidentally, when you say "Im lvl 42," you mean that’s Squall’s level, right?

3. It doesnt really matter. I finished the first disc at around lvl 10-15, and i did fine. Hell, even by the time i got to the 4th disc i was only lvl 20 or so. But i had hell good draws 😉

yea squall is lvl 42 and yes i have 100 of every single magic ive come across

and currently im in Timber (for the first time, for my first mission)

even ultima? that’s great! yeah, as Agent0042 said, levels aren’t really important. drawing magic is one of the most important things in the game. why? because they make you stronger when you junction them to your stats, especially if you junction 100 ultima to squall’s str, and you have his ultimate weapon, lionheart, i think you’ll beat the game in no time!

He said 100 of every magic he’s come across. Somehow I doubt he has Ultima yet. But in any case, Scarface920, it sounds like you’re doing quite nicely. Just keep up those junctions and I’d say if you want to just enjoy the story at this time, go ahead, because you don’t need to worry about leveling too much right now.

hahaha! that’s what i did when i first played ff8. i enjoyed the storyline and didn’t bother to level up at all, so i was like level 30 when i was gonna fight adel with rinoa sucked into her.
