This might be a stupid question, but is there any way to get your characters to stay in the back row in FFVI? As in, you put your character in the back row during a battle, you win that battle, and when the next battle comes along, you’re in the front row again. Anyone know what causes this?

And actually, while we’re on the subject, in FFIV, I can’t seem to change each character’s individual row… when I change rows, they all switch from offense to defense (or vice versa).

go into your menu and press the left control arrow. a nice little box that says Row pops up. click twice on a character to change their row.

Well…. that makes sense. Thanks!

You can’t change the character’s individually because, there are two specific rows. One has two people in it, the other has three people in it. You can switch which position each character is in, and you can choose which row is front and which one is back. But the formation has a specific, unchangeableshape.

Ah, that answers the other question. Thank you.
