Any place that sells videogames should have it, I think.

Actually, the PS2 version of FFXI Online is available only in Japan and the US. In the UK, Europe, Australia and other so-called ‘PAL Territories’, FFXI is only available on the PC (where it was officially distributed by Ubisoft). The PS2 version was never released in PAL, and never will, because Sony Computer Entertainment Europe refused to endorse the PS2 Hard Drive in Europe, due to piracy concerns (which the PS2 version of FFXI requires).

As Sony has since phased out production of the PS2 HDD and the old version of the PS2 anyway, instead concentrating on the new ‘slimline’ PStwos (which cannot use the hard disk), the PS2 version of FFXI will never see a European release (that fact is even mentioned on Square Enix-Europe’s website).

If you happen to live in Europe/UK and want to play FFXI, upgrade you PC, and get the PC version, as it is well worth it.

lol. Like that stopped the software pirates – you can stick a normal IDE drive in the slot for crying out loud ^^;

Yes and you can set up any hard disk for the ps2 machine between 10gb and 50gb
you need to format it for ps2 first though, and it requires the network adapter to initilize it. anyway there isnt enough products availible that utilise the hdd
to buy one or install your own

also the slimline Ps2’s can access the HDD.

Setup the ps2 formatted hdd in a portable usb housing and you will need to hunt down a bootdisc to tell the ps2 bios to look for it… after that it should just initilize as normal

if you want to mod the ps2 to install your own HDD (and they work fine)
you will want to find a guide on the net for all instructions and proper boot discs made by those people,as they have tested it thouroghly

notebly i DO NOT know whether this voids any warranty

Yes this void the guarantee but only because you are messing with the BIOS, messing with anything to do with the PS2 system will void guarantee!

At the moment, there are bootdiscs out there that a let you put games in your HDD, you can even use a HD bigger than 40Gigs to do this and you don’t even need a modchip.

Is it a void to the gaurantee? Well… for one, it probably expired so it wouldn’t matter.

Anyways, stop talking about piracy dammit. >:O

i didnt mention anything fraudulent, only how to add your own HDD
nothing about putting games on the actual drive, you said that

True… but now you kept the subject going! zomg BAHN!!!!

Nah just joking… but really, don’t need to point that out. That would be keeping the subject going.

Oh and it will be on the Xbox 360 a little after launch and QUITE possibly the PS3 or Revolution, depending on if they will have a HD equipped or not.
