Hades – Pumice piece

Where is the 2. Pumice piece for Hades?
He is in the underwater room before crystal world(In Memoria) in the end of the game (behind a rock)?

yeah. i think it is where quina swims and thinks he’s underwater,go behind the rocks and just press X many times,then a "mysterious" voice apears. then u gotta fight hades…

DED, he’s asking where you get the two pumice pieces for Hades to synthesise Pumice, so Garnet can summon Ark, not where Hades is. To be honest, I know there are more than two, but I can’t remember where they are, I can take a look but it may take a while

i think u get the pumice or a pumice peace if u beat ozma. maybe u get em from chocographs…cant remember

no, you can only get the pumice from Hades, that i know, you may be able to get a pumice piece from Ozma though. The chocographs may be the right idea though

There are actually several Pumice Pieces you can get. The first one is gained after defeating Ark at the bottom of Oelivert in disc 3 and the second one is gained in the ‘Outer Island 2’ Chocograph treasure (requires a gold flying chocobo to locate). You can also steal a Pumice Piece from Ozma, along with gaining one after defeating it, but it’s a moot point really as you should have already gained the previous two.

Incidentally, after having Hades synth two Pumice Pieces into a Pumice (and have Garnet learn Ark), you can have Hades synth it back into a Pumice Piece again with the Hammer (won at the end of the Stellazzio quest in Treno), but once again it’s rather pointless to do so.

Not necessarily, the Pumice Piece gives the support ability, Boost, to Garnet. If you did not learn this, and can’t beat ozma, this is useful, because when Boost has been learnt, all Eidolons will do more damage

i think i was in level 78 or something when i beated ozma. the only eidolon i used was bahamut….without boost.

arg i hate ozma hes the only pumice piece i havent gotten he allways uses curxe on me and i die and i want that lasst piece

There are actually four Pumice Pieces in the game I believe.

1) Won after defeating Ark
2) Obtained from the Outer Island 2 (?) Chocograph Treasure
3) Steal from Ozma
4) Synth a Pumice and Hammer to get a Piece

You can get 2 Pumices in the game. You get one from synthing any two piece together. I’m also pretty sure Ozma drops one when you defeat him. Yeah, you can make a 3rd pumice but synthing the other two pieces, however, you will need to lose a pumice to do so, so you’d still come up with 2 Pumices.

Synthing a piece from the pumice and hammer is a bit pointless. I’d only do that if I defeated Ozma already, and synthend two piece together, and I haven’t taught Eiko or Garnet Boost yet. However, Boost is a pretty useful ability so I usually learn it as soon as possible. Besides, you will lose your Hammer, the only one in the game (other than Cinna’s), and you can use that to synth the Tin Armor for Steiner, and I believe that armor is the best armor in the game.
