Does I get it from Trema or what?
I think it’s iron duke i’m looking for…it gives a lot of everything…str, def, etc.
You could use Trigger Happy or Congrats against Paragon so when you fight Trema, you’ll be like new. Have two Dark Knights/Mascots with Crystal Bangles, Shining/Defense Bracers and the Higher Power Garment Grid. Have your gunner (preferably Yuna) with Catnip, Speed Bracer and the Highroad Winds Garment Grid. Use a Soul Spring to take away Trema’s MP, then just Trigger Happy him. Heal with X-Potions.
Haven’t play X-2 in a while, so that strategy is from memory.
-MY NON MASCOT STRATEGY-
Lemme tell ya one thing… He is hard to beat if you don’t have the Mascot dress sphere. I beat him without it and it was difficult, believe me… I recommend training your party to Level 99. To make it easier on yourself, have the girls use Lady Luck with the the double experience ability (I don’t remember the exact name of it, but it’s easy to recognize.) When they’re at Level 99 and you’re at the final floor of Via Infinito, return to the surface and SAVE YOUR GAME after preparations. I really hope that you have a lot of X-Potions for this battle. Make sure that you have AT LEAST sixty or better. Also, have around 20-30 Mega Phoenixes just in case. Make sure you have some Stamina Springs, which allows for the breakage of the HP Limit. Give each of the girls the Higher Power (contains HP Limit exceed ability) garmet grid. Turn Yuna into a mastered Gunner and the other two into mastered Dark Knights. Give Yuna the Cat Nip accessory and Rabite’s Foot. Equip Paine and Rikku with HP raising accessories and Rabite’s Foot. One more thing. Set the ATB on Wait so that you have more time sorting through your item inventory.
Basically, the only way to succeed in defeating Paragon without so much as a scratch is to have someone attack Yuna and get her HP in the yellow. Once that it done, make her start the Trigger Happy command and press R1 as fast as possible. He should be done after one round. If you were lucky, Paine nor Rikku did not have any damage dealt to them. Remember, you have no time in between battles to heal your party!
After the rather long conversation with Trema, that battle begins with the theme of Bevelle playing in the background…. (I have NO IDEA why I just mentioned that…-.-‘) Anyway, let me explain the pattern of Trema’s attacks. He does Meteor when his HP begins to drop and does it again when another chunk is whacked off. He casts Ultima when he has 1/4 life remaining, which automatically does 9999 damage to everyone… That spells certain GAME OVER for you. That is why I mentioned the Stamina Springs. At the beginning of battle, have either Rikku or Paine use a Stamina Spring. This will enable breakage of 9999 HP. Just remember, though… If someone dies and then is revived, the Stamina Spring is deactivated and you have to use it on her again. With Yuna in the yellow, use Trigger Happy as much as possible. Have the other two use X-Potions to heal. And if things get ugly, use Mega Phoenixes. After a long onslaught of physical attacks, Trema will use Meteor, doing a hefty amount of damage. First, if Paine or Rikku gets KO’d, use a Phoenix Down/Mega Phoenix IMMEDIATELY. Heal the two of them with X-Potions, keeping their HPs over 100000. Reactivate the Stamina Spring if necessary. Yuna probably died, so revive her and keep having her do Trigger Happy when her health is in the yellow. When Trema casts Meteor again, repeat the previous process. By the time he uses Ultima, you are one or two Trigger Happys away from victory! Like I mentioned already, make sure Paine and Rikku are in good condition and have Yuna do one or two more Trigger Happys. Trema is defeated and you receive an Iron Duke as your prize!!
Sorry that was so long winded, but it takes a lot of patience (of which, I don’t usually have) to defeat Paragon and Trema without the Mascot dress sphere. If you have it… USE IT, DAMMIT! o_O’…..
….Hope this helped!
I think Via Infinito. That’s where I leveled up, anyway… Just make sure they are using the Lady Luck dress sphere with the Double EXP ability learned…
The later cloisters of the Via Infinito is definitely the best place.
Yeah. Be sure to train on the later floors.
The next best place to level up is in the Farplane (I think I leveled up on the many roads before the actual Farplane). It might take longer to level up there, but the enemies are fairly easy.
And an easy solution to get a girl into critical status before the fight is to have her equip a Bloodlust, and then equip a Wring (or another Bloodlust or vice versa). Each accessory cuts your max HP in half, so equipping two of them will cut it to 1/4. Then unequip them and since the game won’t heal for you, your character will be at 1/4 HP (Critical status) with the usual max HP. Just make sure you do this after you transport to the floors, because if you touch the blue thing, it fully heals your HP and MP.
Great idea…

I don’t think it’s good to train after lvl 80. But from 60-80 it’s the best place ever…My opinion…
I’m up to Cloister 34 and cannot beat this thing, the Elder Drake. I keep hoppng up and down ledges, and there is this big gap with the drake inside. How do I get passed this extremely hard enemy.
I hate that damn thing! Anyway, if I remember correctly, there are other paths around the pit with the Elder Drake. You have to go through one of the paths (I think it’s the left one) and hit a switch to activate the stepping stones above the pit… Explore a bit and once you get it, you’ll be fine! 😉
what accessory is it???

for Elder drake I also use Berserkers evade & counter.
im not sure how much gil u need but i did use bribe. try getting more gil. if bribe works u get like 10 dark matters which help against trema.
umm, im not sure of the name, but i think one is called the champion belt….im not 100% sure of the names.
Champion belt gives 40 str & def…so I don’t think it’s that one.
To oversoul Paragon, you need to fight "weapon" type fiends, such as the Ultima or Omega Weapons. What you do is you encounter this particular type and keep defeating them over and over again. Eventually, it will oversoul. When it does, DON’T ATTACK/DEFEAT IT! Flee from battle and when you fight Paragon, it should be oversouled. By the way, you can encounter a weapon inside of Via Infinito…
I apologize for not mentioning this sooner! Hope it helped, though.
No, I managed to beat Trema without it……
does congrats work and how much to bribe it?
i master every dressphere on the way up 2
