FF: DoS or FF: O?

Im a new FF fan. Ive played FF7 and FF10, so I know what this series is all about. Now I want to get the rest of the games and my first thought is getting them in order of their release date. So first, im planning to get I & II. My first question is, what version should I get, Origins or Dawn of Souls? I dont really care about the extra dungeons, so that wont matter on the chance of me getting DoS. Origins is like 25$ less than DoS, so I am really thinking on getting Origins. But coming to mind is the difficulty level. Like I said, im a new FF fan and I sort of want an easyer type FF game to get the overall feel of it. So for those who have played both, what is the easier version? Also, what game has better graphics? If the graphics are both the same, I will probly get Origins, but just to make sure. So can anyone answer my questions?

DoS has simpler graphics(it is on the gameboy after all), but I think DoS is easier and it has extras, so it is definitely for people new to FF games.

Sorry, but you don’t know what the series is all about by only playing two of the games.

But coming to mind is the difficulty level. Like I said, im a new FF fan and I sort of want an easyer type FF game to get the overall feel of it.
But you also know what the series is all about.

I think Dawn of Souls is easier than Origins. It has a lot more additional content than the first port, and it also has improved graphics and sound. Not really much difference other than that though.

My advice is that you get an NES emulator and play FFI in its original context, because you get a taste of how the whole thing really began, with all the crappy translations and having to press A 297 times to buy the necessary healing items. I think it’s something every FF fan should experience.

Also, if you really want to get the feel of it, you need to experience the graphics as they really were. Actually, the drawings in the NES version of monsters are pretty good. Of course, if you don’t feel like extending your FF fandom to the level of beeing psychotic, then you should never, ever, ever, take any of my advice.
