was square-enix a bad idea?

i think squaresoft joining with enix wasn’t a good choice. final fantasy x-2 is nothing like x, the only thing that is te same, is the voice actors, and the places. everything else feels so different. the music, the battle system *they shoulda kept it like x, it was a lot easier to do, and you didn’t ahve to rsh to set your attacks, unless if u liked it like in 7* but i really wish they woulda waited till after x-2 was out to join. i hope ffxII isn’t…..bad…

Well, FFX-2 wasn’t as good, it kind of got taken off the tracks a little, but I am not sure what you are talking about about -Soft and -Enix.

i don’t think they shoulda joined together, they are killing final fantasy, nobuo doesn’t even compose for it ne more……*sigh* they deffinatley killed ffx-2, i like it, but it doesn’t feel like a final fantasy..never in a final fantasy have the girls been so- barley clothed. i heard it was soppost o be for the girls to play. i don’t really enjoy seeing yuna’s ass half the time.

I don’t really enjoy seeing posts without any capital letters either. I don’t think any of Final Fantasy X-2’s suppposed deficiencies had anything do with Square-Enix, and judging from what I’m seeing of what’s coming for Kingdom Hearts II, Final Fantasy XII and what’s already been seen of Kingdom Hearts: CoM, Square-Enix is definitely on the right track.

I thought the two had to merge, Iirc Squaresoft had lost too much money because of The Spirits Within, and that even the following FF titles couldn’t regain the loss, so Enix stepped in…

Well, a fusion of two companies is never really a good thing. Having two companies together means, there will be lots of new ideas on the one side, but the whole thing has a bad side as well. A lot of people have probably lost their jobs because of that.

Of course, the main idea behind it is getting the money back they lost. And that was the easiest way to go. 🙁

call me dumb but to be honest i had no idea they were to seperate companies to begin with (except for Squaresoft) i thought Square just changed they’re name……..go on everyone laugh it up *waits*……..anyway now that i know, it’s kinda bad i think Square where doing fine creating all they’re great games and then well you know…..it was a mistake…………………………

Yes Aerith, your right there will be downsides as well as upsides.

If I’ve understood the Editor Roundtable right Squaresoft and Enix were major rivals, this rivalry is now gone between the two so there is a danger that they won’t try to give 110% in future games…

However both had interesting Ideas in their games and (if the info is right) Enix focused alot more into the game play, where as Square tried to go for Visual impact. If they get the formula right they could produce some outstanding RPG’s, if they get it wrong however….

im over my whole negative thoguhts about S.E. i was only a lil upset, but im over it now.
