Top Tip

Atip for people struggling in battles while in battle use atent on the enemy, keep using it until a snake appears, it will blind, silence and poision them, so the battle will be alot easier(All this from FF Director)

Yeah, I’ve heard about the ‘tent trick’ (it’s mentioned in the official FFIX strategy guide), but the problem is it also fully restores the enemy’s HP and MP (although also hitting them with negative status like poison and darkness), so is really only suitable to use at the very start of the battle.

Still, it’s a handy trick to use for really tough battles (Ozma and a group of Yans both spring to mind…).

Another trick is when up against ‘stone’ enemies (like the deadly Epitaphs in Ipsen’s Castle), simply use a Soft on the enemy. As such enemies are in a permenant state of Petrification, using a Soft destroys them. This trick also works on certain Stone enemies in FFVII as well. Just thought I would mention it.

I used this little trick in gizamalukes grotto where you can go to popos heights and find garudas. You can defeat them with a tent and you get a LOT of experience for the stage you are at.

I have but…still..

battle near a moogle/savepoint. buy a lot of tents, so you can use mp in battle without worrying about saving it for a boss. when you are low on mp, use a tent until everybody has full mp.
