Hey what do you thinkl about the FF for Xbox. i personally think that if square enix likes the software in xbox so much they put it in the ps3. that playstation gamers can finally be happy.also if they do make ff for xbox we should get halo 1&2

imagine if the xbox ever gets there hands on final fantasy, WE ARE SCREWED!!!. Since xbox holds most likely action games, I see no reason why they don;t turn the final fantasy games into another game full of action.

I might be wrong here but the software in the ps3 will be different than the software in the xbox. And square-enix’s like or dislike of said software has no bearing at all on the ps3, because Sony is making the ps3, square-enix simply makes games for consoles, not the consoles themselves. What are you talking about playstation gamers finally being happy? I’ve been a playstation gamer for a long time, I’m happy with it.

If FF did go on the xbox why would it change to an action series?

Most of us own a ps2 and a gamecube with the nintendo 64 and 32 shoved in a cupboard somewhere with the ps1, so one more consule isn’t going to hurt!

FF won’t go to Xbox because percent wise they sell most of their games in Japan, and PS2 is the biggest thing in Japan. the costs, in both time and money, of porting future final fantasys to Xbox isn’t a big enough gain for them to switch what console they publish on. Also, Software in consoles doesn’t make a difference in how well they run games, Its the hardware that matters.

Generally, I don’t like Microsoft very much. And I think most of the games for XBox are just action games with nothing in them but trying to shoot things. I’m not saying that FF will become this type of game, but I don’t want to have to get an XBox and not be able to play anything else that’s good on it. I hope you were right about FF not going to XBox.

final fantasy 10 did not suck!it was one of the best games i’ve ever played.and 10-2….well…i’ll admit, it was kinda bad, but i still liked it!!

It was weak compared to some games, like FFVI.

I guess what Cloud1181’s trying to say is that it isn’t fair that the Xbox is getting the Final Fantasy series when it already has great action games like Ninja Gaiden, Halo, ect. that is not on the PlayStation 2.

Actually, Final Fantasy X was the second best selling Final Fantasy game in the series (first was Final Fantasy VII).

If xbox gets their filthy hands on the FF series I’m personally gonna… be extremely mad (empty threats are no good). Letting FF on GC was bad enough, they can’t just put a Final Fantasy on xbox! That’s like selling your mother’s soul to Satan, for fucks sake! Playstation is where all future FF’s belong. Period.

I don’t think Square-Enix would take a risk to put FF on the Xbox, because as another poster said the Ps2 (and the upcoming PS3) are big in Japan while the Xbox does’nt have much footing in the VG market in Japan.

Hopefully it doesnt go to the x-box next gen. But no matter what system it may end up on ill still get it.

Yeah, Square is totally doing this on purpose! They are making us hungry for FFXII, thinking that the longer they delay it, the more they will sell. I wonder if we’ll see it in our lifetime…

Final Fantasy will probably continue in the ps2 and 3 but what about nintendo? maybe someday there will be a Final Fantasy for the next nintendo console and the ps3 and Xbox… we must rebember tat square may be upset because of the new model of ps2 with no hdd, this will make much harder the future sales of FFXI fos ps2… honestly i would like a FFXI-based one player adventure, not an online game…

why would ff on xbox be any different from PS2? other than a faster frame rate, better graphics and generally higher quality. PS2 has reached the limit of what it is capable of.
Square made final fantasy, they won’t lose their minds and turn it into an fps action game just because its on xbox. KOTOR is one of the best RPGs around.
As an ff fan i trust square to make good games, but ff12 is looking absolutely awful at the moment.

People, I really wish you would pay more attention – Final Fantasy is not going anywhere this generation. Final Fantasy XII will be a PlayStation 2 exclusive. Final Fantasy XIII? Who knows – but the smart thing to do (and I swear i’m repeating myself in thread after thread) is to wait until Square has announced their support of a particular console, and wait to buy that one.

By the time FF goes to X-box I’ll have a job and will be able to buy an x-box.

As for playing PSP games, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. PSPs are expensive, and the PS3 will be as well – while it might have the ability to play UMD movies, I doubt that it will be able to play PSP games. There’s no business sense in it.
