Dawn Of Souls

Who here has gotten through one or more of the new dungeons, Earthgift Shrine,hellfire chasm,lifespring grotto and th eother wind one. It was nice for square to give us improved graphics and gameplay plus as new challenge but i haven’t found it hard ive destroyed everything in the earthgift shrine and that wind place and i just recently beat up gilgamesh

I havent gotten to them yet, but they seem like a nice addition. What level are you on?

I have heard some people saying they are hard. There are certainly a lot of floors. If you tried them right after you beat each fiend you are supposed to find it tough to beat some of the bosses.

I just wish the normal game wasn’t so easy. It is SO easy to level up!

The new dungeons in Dawn of Souls are incredibly difficult, especially the last two. What’s even more difficult are the final bosses when you finally reach the end of the dungeons. But I’ve conquered all four of them. I just don’t like the fact where you have to go through the entire dungeon again if you want to fight the bosses again.

I’m just messing around in them. It really is a bastard having to go right to the bottom of hem again just to get to the other bosses…. damn invisble forces.

Yeah, I went to the final dungeon and got the Masamune and then exited out so I would have the Masamune for the new dungeons. I beat all of the bosses in the Earthgift shrine and then called it quits. It was too easy and too irritating. I mean, my fighter was doing more than 1000 damage. Anyone who has played the original knows that that’s just ridiculous. Furthermore, you can save IN THE MIDDLE OF DUNGEONS!!! That’s so cheap! I wish I had been able to do that when I kept dying on the wizards at the bottom of the marsh cave with my party of all thieves. I thought the new dungeons were a nice addition to the game, but they were just too annoying. I hate mazes in RPGs. Especially when you are fighting enemies that don’t give you anything. Maybe I should have done them before I got to level 64… I knew something was wrong when I beat warmech (now death machine) my first time through the sky castle.

my not-so-bright cousin plays it. And since hes only ever played X-2 in the series he thinks this game is cool and hard too hard. I agree saving whenever you want is dumb and makes it easy. He just can’t really play thinking type games. I’ve played it too and i didn’t like it that much either.

ive completed them all now i started on about level 60 with earthgift hrine now that im done im level 79 i found it completely easy the only hard thig is finding the next floors other than thta doom gaze and omega were the only ones that gave me even the slightest amount of trouble.

do u ahve to beat the game to access them? cuz whenever i go somewhere like the earthgift shrine, theres a thing stanign in the way, and at the livespring grotto theres nowhere to go.

n9o you dont everytime you restore a crystal you can go into one for the first one earthgift shrine you can go in once you defeat lich at the earth crystal etc.

It probably looked like I was bitching, actually, I probably was, but I spent about 20 consecutive hours on this game. Great games can have irritating things in them (i.e. Super Mario 64.)

aaai!!!! My theif is petrified and he is like lvl 38 and the other players are liek 50. I cant FIND THE GOLD NEEDLE to cure the stone!!! HEEELP

i have now completed ff1 completely with the exception of a few slots in the bestiary they are all random monsters found in the new areas.

I am at a point where I haven’t a clue where to go next. Well, not totally true. I think I need to find the fairy.

Bought it today, can’t wait to get started =D

The new shrines are a good adition to the game, some places dissapoited me like the hellfire chasm lvl2, it uses the textures of the world map so there is nothing really new in that, and the monsters are really weak like the black imp but they are really long so maybe when i level up some more i will go and kill all of the hard bosses
