Cursed Ring in FF VI

Saw this old thread and wanted to post to it. Said it’s old and to start a new one, so here it is.

Yes, the Cursed Ring is real.

I don’t know how I got it. I leave the cursor option to ‘Memory’ and have Locke automatically steal from any enemy I end up facing. You get a lot of nice gear that way.

I have not been able to uncurse the ring yet, I’m not sure if I have fought 255 battles with it equipped. I’m in Dinosaur Forest right now, leveling up so if it doesn’t uncurse soon, I’ll know. Just thought you’d all like a screenshot.

It will uncurse but I though you had to have another item also? God, I used to have the strategy guide for that game, man was it thick.

Doesn’t look like it’s gonna uncurse.

Also, betting the Cursed Shield in the Collesium (sp?) will get you the Cursed Ring (if you win). I just tried it out for myself.

It’s bogus. I have tested it thoroughly and it will never ever uncurse, at least, not in the Anthology version. And don’t believe any rumors you read about the Paladin Ring.

It does uncurse, you have to fight 255 fights before they uncurse.

No it doesn’t uncurse. The shield does but the ring doesn’t. I’ve fought well over 300 battles with it equipped.

A pretty pointless item if you ask me.

zer-o does indeed speak the truth. I tried it with over 300 battles and it never did uncurse. It’s just a junk item, although I think maybe it teaches X-Zone.

fuck ive gotta get around to playing FF6. I just didnt like the start. Does it improve?

Also when i got anthology it had 4 & 5, not 5 & 6. Why is this?

FFVI definitely improves! I’m not sure what you didn’t like about it, but just you wait, it rocks!

As for this one you got with 4 and 5, I have no idea. Start another thread about it and let’s get back to discussing the Cursed Ring here, if there’s anything else to discuss.

Yes, the cursed ring teaches X Zone. That’s the only useful thing about it.

FFVI is the best FF.

Chewey, if you’re playing using a ROM, you could do it using print screen and then paste it into an image program and save it. Then you could attach it to your post. If you’re playing on the Playstation, then it’s a bit more complicated. You’d have to have a setup that could hook your video / TV up to your computer, or the only other way is the ultra-cheapy method I sometimes use, snapping an image with a digital camera.

I have it on PS. I dont like ROMS very much. Ill try and figure a way to post a pic of it

i was lucky i had like played all the ff s but i only owned 8 10 and 10-2 then one day in a second hand store i got 7,6, and 5,4 in anthology big step up.

im curious i’ve heard rumours that if you bet the paladin shield you get the paladin ring? not sure i still have the cursed shield never got round to uncursing, anyone with the paladin shield can you try it?

It’s bogus. This is no Paladin Ring. It does not exist.
