I was walking around my local gaming shop today and saw this game Tales of Symphonia. It seems to be rreasonably new over here in Australia but how long has it been out in other countries. Also what r ur thoughts on the game.

It’s a fairly good RPG. Best classic style RPG that’s out for the Gamecube. Neato fighting system, interesting visuals, very long play time.

Definately check it out.

I absolutely love this game. It very well may be the best Gamecube game right now, and definately a great RPG. I didn’t even read any reviews about it or anything before I purchased it, but I just decided to go ahead and get it. The anime graphics are simply gorgeous and flow well throughout the game, and the storyline/twists are shocking. I’ve never had so much fun with a battle system before, until ToS. It will take you at least 50-60 hours to finish the game, but the replay value is also really high. I’ve almost played through the same file three times, and I’m up to about 160 hours.

Seriously, buy this game. It’s a fantastic RPG.

Yeah, what Smokey said. It’s really awesome.

Smokey and I were going to write a review of it together, but we never got around to it.

I played it whilst in America in the summer, although it’s only recently come out in the UK (and I don’t have a Gamecube anyways).

I thought it was excellent. During the first stage of the game, with the quest going merrily along as planned, I thought it was so much like FFX. Chosen chick and her band of misfits go around visiting temples (with puzzles to be completed to enter) to complete a pligrimage … but then it went onto be far more interesting, that was just the beginning.

Some of the plot twists, especially a certain Star Warsy one, were predictable cheese but I think they still pulled it off. I liked the battle system, although it took me a little while to get the hang of it because it seems pretty fast paced. It was really easy to complete the game on the easy setting so I’d like to try it on the harder one.

Also good is the new game plus thing where you can carry over things to a new game, the titles to collect and the recipes.
