Ruby Weapon help

has anyone got a GOOD guide to beating ruby its screwed up u cant even hurt him……even at lvl 99

HAHAHA that’s funny who would have trouble killing that weak monster just kill your entire party and get caitsith with his limit 2 and have his limit full and roll it and yeah it’s self expanatory..

umm…every body should now you need to enter ther fight with 1 character alive, but i didn’t use ciatsith nights of the round and the mime materia did me fine, oh and final attack……and the fury status effect.

Ok, guys, first of all, even if you kill two of youf characters before the battle, you will still not be able to hurt him much, at least not with some "ordinary" weapons. There are only a few things that do full damage to him and these are KotR(Knights of the Round), also use Hades because he kicks ass, and use Cloud and his Ultima Weapon to deal full damage, to. Almost all other attacks are nearly useless and don’t do a lot of damage. Also use Revive+Final attack to come back to life if Ruby kills you. Ruby also has an MP draining attack, so be sure to link KotR+MP absorb. If you don’t do this, you will get your MP drained away, and then Ruby will kill you and you will not be able to come back to life again. Also use W-summon to summon KotR twice in one round, and then just use Mime to continue the attack and you will beat the guy without a problem. By the way, Ruby can drain ALL your MP away in one hit, so you need the KotR+MP absorb.

If you really want to kill this guy, first equip Cloud’s Apocalypse sword (triple AP gain!!) and just attack with KotR(as described above) – you’ll get 150,000 AP for all materias equipped on the Apocalypse sword. As you can see, you don’t really need a weapon to defeat Ruby. He’s easy as pie. Just stick to the above tactic and you’ll kick his ass.

If you’re lucky, but I like KotR+MP absorb, W-summon, Mime, Final attack+Revive.

RUby? I found him to be pathetically easy. You don’t even need to kill off your other characters. Just make sure someone with Bahamut Zero has on the sprint shoes.

1. w-summon ZERO
2. Ruby will put his tenticles into the ground.
3. w-summon KOTR and mime until he is dead.

I didn’t even use hades or final attack.

why?

1. Hades doesn’t do much damage, and Ruby’s counter attack, ultima, really didn’t do that much damage. I used pheonix downs to revive characters and then used a megalixer. I don’t like final attack for this battle because if you are stuck in a mime sequence and someone uses their final attack, then the character will mime whatever that final attack was and it will waste an action.

he dies in about 7 hits with KOTR (plus the 2 from ZERO).

Yeah, the weapons are not really that hard to beat if you have the right materia and skill.

Well, what I did was attached KOTR to HP absorb, Final Attack to Phoenix,gave that to cloud, and then I attacked the tentacles. They then went down, and i attacked ruby. He put his tentacles back up, and I repeated the process until he died. And since KOTR absorbs max HP basically, it was hard for me not to survive his attacks. Ribbon also helped to prevent the negative status effects caused by him.
