Does anybody know the name of the singer of "Melodies of Life"?

Seeing as how no one has mentioned her name yet, I’ll take the initiative.

To answer your question Dark Messenger, the singer of Melodies of Life is Emiko Shiratori, and she is the vocalist for both the Japanese and English versions of the song.

Personally I perfer the English version myself (and yes I have both versions of Melodies of Life on CD), but then, that’s just my personal preference. It’s a beautiful song which really suited the bittersweet ending of FFIX, and really complimented the end credits – to me at least.

The voice isn’t so bad, I love the song because it seems to be a theme song for all the FFs, its lyrics are worded pretty nicely.

I love Mellodies of life..untill I heard 1000 words from FFX-2, Mellodies of Life was my favorite song, FF or otherwise.

You said the ending was bittersweet? How so? Whats his name got to be with Garnet, right? So why bittersweet?

That ending literally made me jump out my seat, that twist was so good! it made me real happy. that song went perfect with it.

Didn’t Vivi die at the end? Who said "Farewell, my memories will be part of the sky?" Cuz Vivi might have "stopped", like the black mages said he might? I didn’t see him, only his kids, but then again they were all dressed alike.

…Who’s talking at the end? "I always talked about you, Zidane," who’s saying that? It wasn’t a bunch of the characters talking in turn, I’m pretty sure.

I think Vivi died. There’s no other explanation to it.

I adore this song. I think it’s the best Final Fantasy vocal piece, other than maybe 1000 Words Orchestra Version.
