items?

i know that this is only small thing but when ever i’m not sure about items i’ll come back here plus other people can use it to post their questions about items they need in FFVIII.

So anyways i was wondering if any of you guys could tell me where i can find… Star Fragments… I’ve almost got everyones final weapon and i just need to know where to find these 🙂

I hope this thread can help loads of people with their item problems and thanks again 🙂

Does anyone know where i can get a regen ring?

Defeat Torama [Great Plains of Esthar (after Lunar Cry)], Chimera (Island closest to Heaven/ Khaskabald Desert) or Mesmerize (Trabia-Bika Snowfields/Hawkwind Plains).
Or refine 10 Chimera cards into a Regen Ring.

is there an item which helps get your compatability up with Bahamut if so can you tell me?

just use him a whole bunch, everytime you use him in battle his compatibility goes up by 20 (same with all GF’s)

anyone know where to find Grand Mantis?? need 4 sharp spikes to get Save The Queen for Quistis… i’ve been running round deling sewers and Serengetti plains, but had no luck finding one yet!!!

or is there any other way to get sharp spikes?

You’re not trying to get Save the Queen on Disc 1, are you? Because I don’t think it can be done. As for the Mantises, I think they hang out in the forests in the Centra Area.

managed to find some from an armadodo in the tomb of the unknown king, now about to go kick seifer’s ass in lunatic pandora! just wish it didn’t mean losing Odin, and getting that piss-poor "replacement" Gilgamesh… grrrrr!!!!! >:O

Well, you can get Lionheart on Disc 1, so I thought maybe you thought you could get Save the Queen also.

Card Mod Grand Mantis or Death Claw into 1 Sharp Spike
or idd Armadodo in the Tomb, but it doens’t drop them much ..

you’ve probably got’em but you do find them aorund the cactaur desert (of onto the brown stuff) you find em almost all of the time 🙂

Lionheart disc 1
Adamantine-beach below dollet
Pulse ammo- mug blitz ,on centra continent near the desert, when you get a pulse generator ammo refine to get 20 pulse ammo i believe.

If you cant get the rest of the item you self you dont deserve to play,(sry tough cookies)

I need Energy Crystals, but the Ruby Dragons don’t have them

okay you may not of got it from a ruby dragon because you need it to be level 80 or above you can get it from a behemoth but they’re rare so your best bet would be to get it from the Elnoyle in Esthar make sure to win the battle then you should get it…. hope this helps 🙂

from LV 30 to 100 monsters always carry the same set of items ..
As for Energy Crystals
– Kill LV30+ Ruby Dragons (not Mug) with Rare Item from Cactuar
– Kill a lot of LV30+Behemoths, they drop it rarely, so it’s not worth your time
– Kill LV30+ Elnoyle, if they drop an item, it WILL be Energy Crystals ..
– Card Mod 10 Elnoyles ..

I think as stated before that fighting Elnoyles is your best shot ..

try beating Ultima Weapon. u should pick up some good shit along the way without no Rare item or mug.

A bit of advice about Ultima Weapon — he usually drops 100 Ultima Stones, but if he doesn’t do it, reset and try again. It’s an extremely common drop, but not a guarantee. I had one time where the sucker didn’t drop it and had to reset and do it again. Whatever you do — don’t Mug it! If you do, you lose the Stones.
