This wasn’t a huge problem in the past, but it was a bit annoying when people would go back for months (maybe even years) and reply to a very old thread. Often times, the original poster has left the Shrine and/or the new reply wasn’t even helpful. To combat this problem, Sarah has installed a hack that makes it impossible to reply to a thread that is over 90 days old hasn’t been posted in for 90 days. Sorry about the mistake. :-[
However, that doesn’t mean you should go find a thread that’s 89 days old and bump it to the front just because you can. Chances are that, if you find a question that old, it’s either already been answered or the person doesn’t need the help/doesn’t post here anymore, so it won’t do anyone any good if you bump it with your two cents. If you find an almost-expired thread that has an unanswered question you want answered or has some nifty topic, rather than bump it, just make a new one. Reference the old one if you must, but avoid the bumpage if possible, because it triggers the "close thread" portion of my brain. :'(
kthnx, carry on!

Well, I guess since this has been up for ages, I can un-sticky this and hope that people don’t bump really old posts. <3

Sometime around March or April I’ll come into this forum, find this thread, and bump it!
There needs to be an example every now and then.
