What did you name all your characters?

What did you name all your characters through all the FFs if you didn’t keep them default? I’m sorry if this was posted before >.<;

I kept all my character names the same, rarely would I ever change any of them. It just takes something away from the game to me.

I once changed everyones name in 9 to beefhead fir amusement factor. It wasnt amusing though

in FF7 i changed Red XIII’s name to Nanaki. not a big deal but when you get to Cosmo Canyon, the man at the entrance says, ‘Nanaki is Nanaki’.

I didn’t rename any of my characters (except I called Red XIII Red 13 cuz I hate roman numerals)

I like the names they are given

I have only changed them in FF-VII before. We played the game in a friend of mines place. We picked following names:

Cloud – Dennis (my buddys name)
Aeris – Brigitte (my own name)
Tifa – Amanda (fantasy name)
Barret – Muffe (nickname of a friend – female, but who cares)
Yuffie – Nina (fantasy name)
Cid – Homas (from Thomas without the "t", friend of mine)
Red XIII – Taz (from Tazmanian devil)
Cait Sith – Arnold (for some strange reason we thought about Arnold Schwarzenegger)

Yep, that’s it. I used to change them every time I played, but I don’t do it anymore, because this is irritating me. 😉

Heh, I started FF7 and re-named the characters after people in the shrine.
Won’t tell who I used though as they would string me up by the ball-hairs and whip me with sticks. 🙁

When I was younger, I used to name the characters after myself, my siblings, and my friends.

FFVI was something like….

Terra: Mandi
Locke: Raunch
Edgar: Danny
Sabin: Chris
Cyan: Joey
Gau: Andrew
Celes: Jaclyn
Shadow: Alex

and so on. You get the picture.

Now, I just stick with the default names, at least the first time through. Sometimes, when I replay IX, I’ll name Steiner "Rusty", and then giggle at myself.

I named mine after me and my family/ friends.
Cloud:Adam (cos hes the main character :P)
Tifa: lisa
Aeris:sherry
Barret:barrer (i put r by accident, meant to correct :\)
red: lola (my old dogs name)
Cid: lloyd
vincent:trevor
Cait sith: cat >_<

i named my people anything when i first started, then i realised how confusing it was.

Hehehe. I keep all my characters’ names when I play the game the first time around, and then the second time around I re-name them. It was like this:

7:
Cloud – Nyx (means "Darkness" or something…I forgot)
Barret – Piers (There’s a teacher in my school named Mr. Piers who looks JUST LIKE Barret, so I named him that.)
Tifa – Diana
Aeris – Gwyneth
Yuffie – Mayu
Red XIII – Anubis
Cait Sith – Chance
Vincent – Banquo (Character from Shakespeare’s "Macbeth." He ended up getting killed by his best friend a.k.a the main character ;p)
Cid – I kept him "Cid". Because I refuse to have an FF without a Cid 😛 (Actually, I really don’t care…XD; )

Squall – Kaoru (because his expression on the main menu reminded me of Kaoru’s expression from Dir en grey in some photos ;p)
Rinoa – Sarah.

9:
Zidane – Lupus
Steiner – Octavio. (Ohohoho. XD)
Garnet/Dagger – Katana
Vivi – Kyo
Freya – Laverna
Amarant – Red. 😛
Quina – Quina. >:P
Eiko – Amy

i named all the characters after me and my family.

I named all the characters after my family members the first time i played FF7.

for the most part i kept them all the same except for cloud who i named after myself luke

I substituted obscenities for certain character names…

Cloud – Mike (my brother)

Squall – Mike (lol same person)

Tidus – Tidus (i was very close to naming him Mike :D)

now I just stick with the default names ^_^

I only named the characters in FFIX after beating my first game:

Zidane-Carl(my boyfriends name)
Garnet/Dagger-Dot Kay(my nickname and my short legal name)
Vivi-Aaron(my nephew’s name)
Steiner-William(my sister’s boyfriend’s name)
Freya-Heather(my sister’s best friend’s name)
Quina-Default
Eiko-Cassy(my cousin’s name)
Amarant-Jason(one of my friend’s name)
