Did anyone ‘talk?’

well maybe this is just me, but when i was playing the FF series 7-9 i always did ‘the voices’ you know like….what i thought the voices would sound like and i voiced them when the text came up on screen (i had to do this the second time round of course) i thought it was really fun! but then again, maybe that’s just me! ^_^

Most ppl do it in their heads like in books, but i liked to hear the voices, but they all had a bit of a feminun touch to them (the guys) lol. I don’t do it anymore though, only with 8 for some reason, but i used to do it with all of them (i do this in all text-based games, just something i do!) when 10 came out i thought i’d died and went to heaven! i could hear someone speaking!

But anyway, did anyone else do this? speak aloud? or am i just a mental case? lol

I always just attach voices to them mentally. But if you like actually reading it aloud, then more power to ya. Just don’t annoy people near you. 🙂

Same here. I always made the voices in my head. I don’t read out aloud.

guess i am a bit of a mental case! but you know, i did it when i was 9…so you can’t really blame me! i don’t do it now…that’s just weird, but i used to! i loved it!

Yeah i used to do that when i first got FF7(which was 7 years ago, so i was 9 :/)
I used to do the deepest voice i could for sephiroth and the highest for aeris >_<

I made the voices all up tn my head. It is just like reading a book. I don’t like reading out loud. 😉

hehe i guess, but i used to wait till the text came up fully then said it sloooooowly lol! i’m 13 now, it was waaaay back when i was little lol, so i don’t do it anymore! i’m much too mature for that now, in the head will do.

wow…my mum said she was worried about me cause i talked to myself all the time….haha i was a weird child too, but some of it still lingers (not the talking to self stuff) lol

It looked like I was talking to myself, but actually I was playing. But I believe, it must have had looked weird, because somethimes I was just talking, but without a toy in my hand. I thought, the toy doesn’t neet to be there, but I need to speak out the words, because if I don’t do that, it is like the words were never said at all. :rolleyes:

But reading out during the whole game….wow, sounds rough… :laugh:

I never could speak out loud for that long. I only read in my head because I don’t like hearing myself read. It also slows me down. For reading it then saying it out loud it’s just more time consuming for me. It’s quicker to just read in my head then read out aloud.

I never really gave any voices to the characters that were speaking. I just read the text, and moved on.

Like I said, I always do. But only mentally. They just pop up. I don’t have to do a thing to it. Well, when I read a book they have different voices too. 😉

The same is FF. It is like reading a big book. :laugh:

well i’m a very good reader, i can say the text as it comes up, like it’s just being said by someone, i’ve always had a talent for that 😉 if i did it now, i probably not even have to think of it, i know nearly every scene, word for word (or nearly) my teacher in primary school said i have a ‘photographic’ memory, but i just nodded not knowing what it meant…….what does that mean??

just means you have got a good memory realy

Whoa. If you truly have what’s known as a "photographic" memory, then that’s a very rare gift. You may want to look into that further. Basically, someone who has a photographic memory can read through an entire book (or go through an entire game as the case may be) and have the entire thing memorized perfectly (or pretty much so) after going through it just once.

P.S.: I never really talk out loud when playing and only sometimes do voices.

yeh that’s kinda right, though, i can never remember what they’re saying…just the pictures in my head, i’m okay with text, but with vocals? nah you got me there

i’m good with voices though, i NEVER forget a voice and rarely forget a face…but they’re names….oy……i’m also a very good mimic, i can mimic some voices perfectly….american accent, i’ve masterd that! i can mimic voices from animes and shows i watch regularly, boys better though O.o

I won’t do the voices out loud, but I’m my head. If I did do the voices out loud though, it would be weird. And people might think I’m having a conversation by myself(:laugh:); only I’m changing how the voices sound like.

lol my mum thought i was posessed or something! she’d come into the room and i’d be like;

‘Sir! We don’t have the time!’ (in a kind of lowish voice, american accent)
‘I know that Damnit! But we have to try! Lt. (something)! do we have enough power to give it another blast?’ (in a low, captain-ish voice…gruff and really low you know? and american accent)
‘Yes Sir. Just enough power to shoot once more, if we miss, we can’t do anything about it…’ (in a female voice, high authority if you know what i mean…..and yet agian…and american accent)

think i have a thing about american accent’s, in shadow hearts there is a girl (Alice) that speaks in an English accent, i can do the accent, but i just did it american anyway lol

yeah freaky huh? if you’ve played ‘Star Ocean’ there’s this really high annoying voice…i could be the one doing that voice it’s so accurate! not to boast or anything, but i can do Rikku’s voice really good too, my voice is pretty high pitched and annoying, so i guess it’s easier that way….

on the other hand, i can do really low voices, like when i’m doing a man’s voice……wow i’m totally confused here :confused:

yeah i didn’t like it it was too quiet…. kinda made me jump every time i heard someone speaking out side my room or something…. i mean two hours in silence then out of nowhere someone talks…. scared me…
