What makes FFIX special?

What makes FFIX good? What makes it different from other FF’s? What does it do well (and bad)?

i believe it does well because its in te style of the old 2d ff games , i hope you understand what i mean

I like the enchanting storyline with probably the most interesting cast of characters ever in a FF game. Plus it returns back to the old style of FF’s with castles and mages, like a medieval era. It is much different from the futuristic FF’s of FF7 and FF8, and it has a definitely intriguing storyline.

I think the only bad thing about FFIX (apart from the confusing card mini-game) is the battle system, which is pretty good, but it’s slowish and you may find it boring at times.

Final Fantasy IX has an amazing story, and it’s extremely well paced, especially in comparison with other FF games.

I agree with ViviFF about the battle system- it can get a bit repetitive at times. However, I thought the abilities system and the potential to synth really awesome weapons more then made up for this.

FFIX isn’t my favorite, but it’s one of the best. Definitely check it out.

Well, FF9 is special because it isn’t futuristic like ff7 and 8. It has mideival stuff, like castles and mages. And dont forget the romance…*Cough* Zidane and Dagger, plus Steiner and Beatrix *Cough* But the card game is harrrrd…

It’s gone back to the past which i like very much. The storyline, however the actual plot of the story isn’t as good as 7, but the way in which they produced the story is better than 7 if ya know what i mean. ff9 realy tries to get the player involved with the storyline which i found different to some other ff games. It has humour which every one likes. It’s just a great game =) =)

I never had played any other FF’s series but this one, and the most thing that I make a special game (at least for me) is because of the intrigant story, interesting characteres (Kuja-samaaa~*__*) and this was the first rpg game that I had played, so is memorable/special for me *how sentimental*

Final Fantasy IX is my Favourite also, It has a great story-line, Characters were good, I actually liked the Battle System, And everything else in there!

And I found the Card Game very easy, it was fun, I won the tournament multiple times. 😀

I likethat the eidolons(summons) are used in the story line and that u can use 4 characters in battle instead of 3

I liked the plot. It ws easy to follow, and very exciting. The characters were good, and the battle system too. I could catch on really easily the first time I played it.

FF9 is good because it has Class. Seriously, I mean first of all just the cast and character design spells out good taste. The character development isn’t all cluttered and the battle system is pretty broken down with out being boring. Simplicity allows more focus towards the story line and such. Thats one of the main reasons I like this game. Its just more fun and hands off than alot others in the series. And its just a good looking game overall.

zidane makes it good hes actually a very funny guy and vivi makes it good too in a sentimental way you feel sorry 4 him
