That shield you get in Narshe that is cursed. If you fight 255 battles with it equipped, it turns into the Paladin Shield. It gives you all bad status effects though. I found it easy to uncurse it by going to the island where you start the World of Ruin and fight the enemies that commit suicide after a while.

well.. i’d rather level up while uncursing that so, i’d equip ribbon + cursed shield and level up around in hard places ;p

yeah, so you have to uncurse it before you can use it, which takes ages. I have done it once and I couldn’t be bothered to do it again on my second go, if only there was New Game Plus on FF6!

I never did get the thing. However i agree with the guy that talked about leveling and uncursing the shield – 2 birds kiilled with 1 stone. That ribbon is esentual for the character with the shield isnt it???
final Q – who DO you get the cursed shield and (i think it exists) cursed ring? as i say, i never did get them

you get the cursed shield in Narsge in the world of ruin. However you must of got Locke from the Phoenix Cave. When you return, talk to Arvis he’ll give you a key to a building that you can get the cursed shield from.
to get the cursed ring, you have to go to the colessum and wager the cursed shiled (not the paladin shield) and you will fight an enemy called didalos. you will get the cursed ring.
