Is there anyone who found the story of FFVII confusing?

Is there anyone who found the story of FFVII a bit confusing? I was confused to start with about Zack, Cloud, Sephiroth and Jenova and all that. Anyone else?

I got really confused when Sephiroth plays with Cloud’s head and shows him the picture with Zack instead of him.

That picture completely lost me!

You knew I was gonna chime in on this, so just grin and bear it.

I was confused at first, but I thought it was going to make everything clear. It didn’t. So I eventually deconstructed the entire plot and rebuilt it from the ground up. When I think of FFVII’s story, I think of my improvements, not the fatally flawed original. As long as I ignore the actual game, it works fine.

I was confused at how Seperioth would appear at confront the party, but then you ended up fighting JENOVA. I had to play two times to figure out that she was the one following you and that Seperioth was in the Northern Cavern that would time.:confused:

My first playthrough i was really confused.. i didnt get anything. especially when you go to the crater the first time and you learn what happened to cloud REALLY. but its clear to me now 🙂

Yep, this is spot on.
I think ive wrote this in another thread, but why I prefer 8 to 7 is simply because the story of 8 (IMHO) is strong on face value than 7.
I like the idea of non-conformity and fighting against an evil conglomerate n’all, but if you don’t sit back and build the story yourself afterwards, piecing together what you’ve learnt, its pretty crap.
I think most people like FF7 more than Prak, but hes definately right here

I was confused in the beginning, and I am still confused sometimes. Whenever I play it again, I have new questions again. This is totally weird. But this is the way I like it! 😉

I found Sephiroth’s story to be confusing.
I had to actually study him in order to get it.
