Final Attack Materia?

Been through the game a fair few times now, completed it but not yet managed to whip Diamond or Ruby Weapon(s) yet.
Problem is, don’t wanna fight them without Final Attack-Revive combination, and for the life of me I can’t seem to find the Final Attack materia.
Ive heard its a Chocobo Racing gift but Im at a loss.
Help?

I believe you get it in the Battle Square, but it’s been a while since I’ve played, so I could be wrong.

Anyone wanna confirm if I am or not? 🙁

Im not sure whether you are or not yet, just started a new game now:)
But just say you are, can you remember how you get it at the battle arena?

Yes you get it in the Battle Arena.

You have to get enough points to get Omnislash, and the W-Summon Materia and you also have to beat the Proud Clod in the Return to Midgar.

After you do those three things the attendant will ask you if you want to participate in a special battle.

After you finish the special battle you receive the Final Attack materia.

You should master this one if you want to fight the weapons.

The Special Battle will consist of all of the "bosses" of the Battle Square (all the monsters you fight last.) The last monster of this battle will be the Proud Clod.

If you do the special battle again, you will recieve either useless items (at least, I havn’t found a use for them,) or a ribbon.

And does anybody know the purpose of those stupid tissues?

I remember that the tissues had something to do with the difficulty of the monsters at the arena. The more tissues the harder the monsters. I think I’m not really sure if memory serves me well but eh whatever.

Yea labrat, I think you are right about the tissues. I remember reading that also.

You also need to kill the monster that’s flying around (Ultima weapon?). If you don’t kill that, you won’t get the chance to do the "special" fights at the Battle Square. 🙁

But if you killed this one, you can go straight through the battles in the Battle Square. It works, because that’s the way I did it the last time. I didn’t want to go to the Battle Square twice. Ok, maybe you should go outside and save the game, before you go back in there again. Just in case…. 😉

So, kill Ultima Weapon, go to the Battle Square and get Omnishlash, W-Summon, and Final Attack.

Or, go there and get the Ombislash, W-Summon, beat the Ultima weapon, and go back in there and get the Final Attack then. That’s up to you. 🙂

i remember reading something about getting like 99 tissues and then dio would challenge you and if you won he would join your party, seriously doubt this though. been trying to prove one way or the other, if anyone has more info on this let us know.

Get 65000 battle points and you can access the special battle (yes, you can spend them, they wanted you to at least reach max BP first)
