FF6 party

Who was your main party through the game?
Mine was:

1 – Locke, with Thief Glove and Atma Weapon. He’s fast and Mirager does immense damage (plus he’s just cool).

2 – Setzer (My favourite FF6 character, and one of my favourites in any FF), since im insanely lucky with his Slots move.

3 – Celes – If you time Runic right, and give her decent Espers, she’ll own.

4 – Cyan – I needed some power, and with all 8 SwdTechs learned, Cyan is definitely power.

all my chars learned every magics from the espers but i mainly used locke, celes, gogo, and edgar. edgar can equip 2 weapons so you could give him 2 atma weapons :O then he hits 8 times with some item, i forgot the name -_-;;

Ive stuck with Cyan, Terra, Edgar and Sabin.

and a toss up between Edgar and Cyan

I had to use these:Terra:all magic (including ultima) then i had cyan:all 8 techs,Shadow:Threw loads of old weapons did Loads of damage.And:Gogo:He had Mimic,Tools,Magic and items.

I also once beat kefka with a party of relm,Gau,Mog and umaru.
Hard as hell even with good equip.

i woul;dnt think so, but did relms sketch work against kefka?

It’s a shame how few people use Gogo…

i used gogo 🙂 my gogo was level 99. i leveled each chars alone kinda. in dinosaur forest. leveld all the chars one by one to 99 except gau and umaro ;[ but loved gogo cuz he/she was funny 🙂

i used gogo a little, like in the bosses leading up to kefka. i needed healing so i bought gogo in to mimic my healer…

He doesn’t have to mimic them though… You can assign him any ability in the game. I think (and I even asked someone else) that his magic command is everyone else’s collective magic. Meaning if Edgar has Cure 3 and Cyan has Fire 3 that Gogo will have both Cure 3 and Fire 3 under his magic command. Gogo really is the best character in the game (combat wise), in my opinion.

My end game choice party during my last playthrough was Terra, Celes, Sabin, and Cyan. They were at high 30’s and low 40’s for levels and Kefka was incredibly easy. As for Gogo, he just annoys me.

Just waiting to go to kiefa’s tower. Levelling up other parties is hard, but mog’s party wont battle with Moogle charm!! wooo

I don’t think I really had a set party. I did play favorites with Terra and Edgar, though. I RARELY used Umaro and Gau, if ever. Strago also tended to be shafted, but not as often as the other two. I really didn’t like Gau. :-[ With the others, I just rotated a lot, but I wasn’t often without either Terra or Edgar in my parties.

My main party after I got all the charecters was,

Sabin: for his high strength and blitz skill.

Setzer: my personal favorite from the game and if you get him his fixed dice and give him the genji glove + offering he can be pretty deadly if he is a high enough level, at least I think so.

Terra: for her strong magic, she was mainly used to cast Ultima against Kefka, and to heal when needed.

Celes: I used her mainly as a white mage, but when she didn’t need to heal anyone she was pulling out the Ultima spells.

Also at the fight with Kefka I had Gogo Set up with Sabin’s Blitz Skill and I don’t remember what else, he was pretty much a back up because I felt that if someone fell, I would want him filling in the slot.

I always use Terra and Gogo.

I tend to fluctuate a lot between Edgar, Locke, Setzer, Cyan, Celes, and Sabin for the other two spots. I don’t tend to use Mog very much for boss battles, but I use him a lot when going through areas, because I love getting all his dances.

Stragos, Shadow, Gau, Relm, and Umaro usually don’t see much use.

My team at the end was Terra, Edgar, Sabin and Cyan.

I had Edgar equipped with two weapons, one that struck with a Holy spell each turn. And Sabin had a 4x cut weapon of some sort. Terra and Cyan were sort of healers / back up in case things went wrong. 🙂

for me, every character (in the before mentioned list) was equipped for being backup… life2 and 3, cure 3, fire/ice/bolt 3, and the like. I had no problems – not one of my characters was down for more than a couple of turns

Having that equipment at level 30 wouldnt ever let you down either, hell locke a lvl 99 locke could….. argh too powerful…..

My team..

Edgar – genji glove/offering, illumina and atma weapon, and maxed strength
Sabin – bum rush + max speed
Mog – gem box/economizer, all spells, maxed magic power
Gogo – I think I gave him mimic/tools/blitz/magic.

Basically, having a bum rush every few seconds = pwnage, not to mention Edgar basically kills everything.

I’m currently doing the Celes/Setzer/Edgar quest. (I’ll HAVE to beat the game with them…) I’ll announce the team I rushed the game except Kefka’s Fortress. (Damn KO monsters!) Edgar, Celes, Sabin and SHADOW! Ya, gimme a S! Gimme a H! Gimme an A! I don’t need to finish the cheer for you to know who my favorite chacracter is.

Seeing as FFVI is all about Magic Power, this is the party I use:

Terra-She and Celes are interchangable, more or less. Both get Minervas, Mystery Veils, Aegis/Force Shields, and either Atma Weapon or Illumina. Hero Rings and Gold Hairpins make them both forces to be reckoned with.
Celes-See Terra
Relm-Easily the best mage in FFVI. Give her decent equipment, Earrings, and a Gold Hairpin/Economizer, and she nukes like it’s nobody’s business. Gem Box/Economizer is so broken on Relm that it’s funny, too.
Sabin-He’s got Bum Rush. Kind of hard to argue with that. He also makes for a good healer, with decent Magic and the Mantra Blitz.

I use Setzer, Mash, Tina and umm… who was that again…?
Oh! I use my widdle Lock!

My most fun playthrough was doing the Celes/Edgar/Setzer thing.

I think my first time I used Celes Locke Sabin and Edgar? I liked Tools and Blitz (added variety). And Celes and Locke are da bomb.

I used Terra, Sabin, Edgar and either Loke or Setzer. I switched people out every now and the nbut it seems that was my party most of the time.

Terra-she is my favorite classic ff character and 9999 with both physical and magical!
Shadow-quick ninja and for me a good support to Terra
Locke-steal is invaluable
Sabin-bum rush is pretty good
