I looked over the FF7 section of the site and found this under "Tips":
"Date with Tifa: Never talk to Aeris unless it is vital for progression of the game. Then, Cloud will get a date with Tifa after Aeris dies.
Date with Barret: Never talk to Aeris or Tifa unless it is vital for progression for the game. Then, once Kalm has entered for the first time, Barret will ask Cloud for a date."
In which version(s) of the game does this work? I have the European version(PSX). I can’t seem to date someone other than at the Gold Saucer.
Also, chocobos’ top speed seems to differ depending on which guide you read. Is it different for other versions? Mine can run at 176…no more.

Im pretty sure the only time you go on a date is at the gold saucer, but if you want to go with Barret then he’s supposed to just ASK you for one at Kalm. You don’t actually go until the gold saucer. You can also go with Yuffie.
About the chocobos… sorry I’m not sure, just feed it sylkis greens until its maxed out.
