I pick Kefka, pretty much because he is too crazy to be bargained with, his evil laugh that pisses me off, and he will stop at nothing to destroy the world. Kefka actually shows passion in his anger and hate for the world.

Sephiroth is a great villian and all, but I don’t consider him to be better than Kefka. For instance, he kills Aeris from behind, flys away when danger is near (Cloud), and always manipulates Cloud to do his dirty work. If you ask me, that sounds kind of cowardish.

Kefka wouldn’t kill Aeris from behind. He would do it so that she could see him deliver the finishing blow. Then, knowing that her death is not good enough, he would stand over the body and laugh *grr*, and then slice her head off. And he wouldn’t run away from the scene of the crime either.

Sephiroth is so boring, such a flat character, and he doesn’t scare me nor does his atmosphere drive me to hate him, like a villians character should properly do.

Sephiroth sucks, don’t know what so special about him, I agree with what smokey said, Kefka is the "badder ass" as you would put it.

Kefka is a demon seed, unlike sephiroth he was pure evil from the start, why? because no explenation is given as to why kefka is bad, he’s just clinicly insane, and unpredictable. By pure chain of events he became uncontrolable and even a inherited the powers of a "god"

hell even kuja is better than sephiroth, better character, more evil and "hateable" atmosphere, plus unlike sephiroth AND kefka, kuja tried to destroy not the world but EXISTANCE

Just play FFVI, like I’m sure you haven’t. Play it on the psx for that matter, so you get the full effect.

Sephiroth is far from the ultimate bad guy.

He had to follow Kefka, easily the greatest video game villian of all time, and he’s been surpassed since then by Kuja, and Seymour- they were both more effective villians.

If you’ve never played VI, don’t even try and get in an argument about this. No villian has ever managed to achieve the levels of evil that Kefka did.

I don’t know, but maybe the CG version of Sephiroth is attractive in a evil way and soemwhat he have an innocent evil face……and in 7 he’s looks too innocent to be evil although I really hated him for killing Aeris.

Thing I don’t get about you all saying "Kefka would never stab someone in the back", well he did poison Doma’s water supply, how is that less cowardly than stabing someone in the back?

And finally to answer the original question, no Sephiroth is not the ultimate badass. Steven Segal is the ultimate badass. Just watch any of Segal’s movies, the guy throws 3 punches and 7 guys are sprawled out on the floor with broken limbs. The only person that even comes close to Steven Segal in badassness is Van Dam.

Well I like Kuja( *Claps* Very nice, personal Favorite in Moves (Ultima looked Awesome!!) , Weak Fragile, and Senile, until you tell him that he Was a Failure and Unworthy to rule… then become Very Evil, to think of Destroying the source of all life… Sephiroth just wated to rule the planet, because he was too arrogant about his power, which Led to his death by a very young Cloud. Seymour (Sweet ass OverDrive!) was alright but he was too obsessed with Yuna and trying to Become Sin… that he didn’t think what it would Cost him…

Well, I’ve only seen my friend play a bit of FFVI and a coiple of scenes, but on what people say Kefka seems like your typical insane badass.

Kefka is a very good competition buy I still think Sephiroth’s the better, more bad a** villain. Thats just my opinion..

The only reason why I like Seph more is because he wasnt as insane as Kefka..that’s it. He reminds me of Kuja and a bit of Seymour. I dont prefer villains like that. I want someone like Seifer and Sephiroth

Kefka was the badder ass boss in any FF game I don’t know how long it took me(4 hours 35 mins and 28 secs) to beat his final forms. Sephiroth was a very tough boss at the end of the game, but I beat him rather quickly…

Kefka even had his own cult(if i remember correctly) lol.

Yes; Kefka. Sephiroth was one of those villians who used to be good and had a reason to be bad, and those villians were the ones you felt sorry for.

Kefka was born evil, started evil, and evil to the death. It made you wanna kill him so at the last battle! Now that’s a villian!
