my diagonals don’t work

i can’t get some of sabin’s blitzes to work. i can’t get the diagonals to work. doing it in fluid motion didn’t work and neither did pressing down and left at the same time. do i need a special controler or something? help!!!

Yeah, I had this problem sometimes. It was a little hard for me to get Sabin’s Blitz to work, so I didn’t use it all to well as it only wasted his turn. But, the only thing that I did was push down on the controller pad hard to get the diagonals to work.

If it�s any consolation I tended to only use Mantra near the end of the game because all of his other moves were weak compared to the magic he could cast.

Every Blitz move has an "alternate" to get around this problem.
For instance, Aura Blast (I think) is D, DL, L; but the alternate is D, D, L.

In simpler terms, just press the direction twice instead of doing diagonals.

And to the end of the game, I had maxed Sabin’s speed (yay Odin), and just did Bum Rush everytime his turn came around.
