Earth Mallet

hi, in guides i’ve looked at it says you win earth mallets from gigas in the crater on disc 2, i’ve fought many many MANY gigas and not won one yet, is this the wrong way to get them or is there an easier way to win them? thanks

i dont know, but you can steal Gigas Armlets off of them. (pretty useful information really) try morphing them???

Sometimes if it’s a rare drop you can fight many battles and still not get it. It’s really a test a patience. I know that in FFVIII, if you successfully steal from the enemy, they won’t drop anything. Not sure if the same is true in FFVII, but if you have been stealing before kiling them, you might want to try cutting it out.

I checked a site and it says that it casts Quake3. Doesn’t sound particularly useful to me. Are you just trying to get every item?

i forgot about this Agent0042, yeah, don’t steal, as you can only steal Gigas Armlets. just try and get a high luck (i don’t actually know if this works, but it can’t hurt)

I’ve had the same problem. I discovered that there is a mistake on all those FAQ’s you visited. In my experience, Gigas only drops the item Earth Mallet if you kill him with BASE MAGIC (e.g. bolt3). I fought a good 50+ Gigases (2-3hrs) and every time I killed them with my physical attacks.. and every time I got no item after the battle. I then killed 4 Gigases in a row with bolt3 and went home with 2 Earth Mallets.

I think hes right..coincedental as it is the game isnt designed to have item drops based on anything..its random..i could be wrong..but hey prove me wrong..a glitch..maybe thats y urs did it..?
