Fishing tips, anyone?

Seriously, I suck at fishing in FFXI almost as much as I do IRL and am in need of help.

What are the "best" fishing spots in Bastok (the area I’m currently in, and too low a level to head to another nation)?

What’s the best bait to use for those spots?

And, what other tips do you peeps have, those that fish?

Um lets see….. not sure if there’s a fishing guild over at Bastok but go to Windurst anyways and fish around there with Little Worms and start building up with some Cray Fish.

Also, have a macro that is like…

/echo Fishing in 14 Seconds
/wait 14
/fish

Or something like that.

Is there a way to set it up so that your character will keep "fishing" so you don’t have to stand by it? lol

You can- just set up a fishing macro and then tape the button down so it uses it over and over again.

However, that’s against the ToS, and GMs apparently do get pretty strict about fishing bots.

Well, I meant so that I could chat and whatever without being arsed to stop and "/fish" every minute or so. I’d still be there…

I know you play on pc, but do you use a controller when you play? Because it’s really easy to spam a macro without paying attention using a controller.

It isn’t that hard to spam macros with a keyboard either, especially if you can set it on your lap (wireless or whatever) and your hand isn’t too small >.>

Ah. Well, I have tiny little kid hands, so I’ll do my spamming with a controller. :p

Nope, Keyboard + Optic mouse for me.
