Cid-I wouldn’t call him a Dragoon just because he does some diving limit breaks. The original Dragoon is Kain, and if I want to classify someone as a Dragoon, they have to be somewhat similar to Kain. And for Cid, well…no

These five can be debated which class they belong to. Yuffie and Vincent are probably thief and gunner, respectively. Cid <I> could </I> be considered a Dragoon, but probably not. And I’m not sure what I would classify Cait Sith and Red XIII as.
As for Cait Sith… I’m edging towards what Setzer is in FF6 but as to what class it is exactly, I’m not sure of.
Barret, I might classify under Ranger rather than Gunner because Barret does have melee attacks and Rangers can switch to and from.
<B> Well, Cid can be considered a Dragoon because well… he does "jump" and dive with a spear like all the other Dragoons in all the other Final Fantasy games… he just doesn’t have a Jump command. </B>

As a matter of fact, that does sound better for Barret to be a Ranger, since he does have the ability to perform melee attacks. Then, I guess, you could have these jobs for the characters…

Vincent – Berserker/Gunner (once his limit breaks out, you lose control of him. Thus: Berserker.)
Cid – Dragoon. No two ways about it, he carries a bloody spear, so he must be a dragoon.
Is there such a thing as a beast? cause thats what i think Red should be.
and just as a side note what would you class some of the others like the Turks and Sephiroth…. Hojo could be an Alchemist maybe…
redXIII: i’d call him magic user, just cuz he’s so ‘in tune’ with the planet, and is good at it…
thusly, i’d have to change aeris to a healer, same as white mage, just more specific (that’s what she does!)
and i’d also like to call vincent a black mage, cuz there isn’t one, and he transforms, and is ‘evil’ generally speaking

Yeh good point but knights are more traditional like but he could though.
Also Red Xii i would say he would be more of a monk than anything else. And Tifa i would think she would be a black belt not a monk monks are completely different.
