Classes and Jobs

Each Final Fantasy game has a character that can be associated with a Class or Job. Even Final Fantasy 7 characters have classes but they end up not having something solid because of the materia system… thus they have to associated in class by how they end up looking and how they play out.

Lets see if this sounds right.

Cloud – Warrior
Tifa – Monk
Barret – Gunner
Aeris – White Mage
Red XIII – Not Sure about this one…
Cait Sith – Same
Cid – Dragoon?
Vincent – Another Gunner?
Yuffie – Thief

Anyone want to agree, disagree, fill in the blank?

Cid-I wouldn’t call him a Dragoon just because he does some diving limit breaks. The original Dragoon is Kain, and if I want to classify someone as a Dragoon, they have to be somewhat similar to Kain. And for Cid, well…no

These five can be debated which class they belong to. Yuffie and Vincent are probably thief and gunner, respectively. Cid <I> could </I> be considered a Dragoon, but probably not. And I’m not sure what I would classify Cait Sith and Red XIII as.

Well, Cid can be considered a Dragoon because well… he does "jump" and dive with a spear like all the other Dragoons in all the other Final Fantasy games… he just doesn’t have a Jump command.

As for Cait Sith… I’m edging towards what Setzer is in FF6 but as to what class it is exactly, I’m not sure of.

Barret, I might classify under Ranger rather than Gunner because Barret does have melee attacks and Rangers can switch to and from.

Well, the only class I would really consider Setzer and Cait Sith in would be a gambler. Unless someone else suggest a better class for these two…

As a matter of fact, that does sound better for Barret to be a Ranger, since he does have the ability to perform melee attacks. Then, I guess, you could have these jobs for the characters…

That looks pretty good to me.

Cloud – Warrior. Bit of a no brainer there.
Barret – Gunner. Makes more sense.
Tifa – Monk / Black Belt. Black belt sounds better.
Aeris – White Mage. Yep~
Red XIII – Warrior (let’s face it, his physical attacks kick ass.)
Yuffie – Thief.
Cait Sith – Gambler.
Vincent – Berserker/Gunner (once his limit breaks out, you lose control of him. Thus: Berserker.)
Cid – Dragoon. No two ways about it, he carries a bloody spear, so he must be a dragoon.

bahamut zero has the most accurate one but i would consider red XIII a warrior i would call him a….i dont remember what their called a want to consider him a i dont know monster or something i dont know i quit ill leave this to you guys

Um Um couldnt Cloud be classed as a Knight in way. Since he does kinda protect Aeris and Tifa or something like that?

Is there such a thing as a beast? cause thats what i think Red should be.

and just as a side note what would you class some of the others like the Turks and Sephiroth…. Hojo could be an Alchemist maybe…

i would say agree with most, but:

redXIII: i’d call him magic user, just cuz he’s so ‘in tune’ with the planet, and is good at it…

thusly, i’d have to change aeris to a healer, same as white mage, just more specific (that’s what she does!)

and i’d also like to call vincent a black mage, cuz there isn’t one, and he transforms, and is ‘evil’ generally speaking

and cait’s just a spy!

Healer isn’t a job or a class. 😛

i know that… i just meant to narrow her down farther from just white mage…

Nanaki(Red 13)-i would consider a…………..warrior/football player (he tackles for an attack right?kinda,sorta,maybe?)

Sepheroth-uhhh highway patrol man?
Turks-computer geeks or somethin
Shinra company-a nice beat down shack on the horizon
Chocobos-basically a horse with no wings, but has 4 legs
ruby weapon-a machine created to eat trash that has fallen from the Golden Saucer.
emerald weapon- a machine that looks familiar to my lawnmower

Yeh good point but knights are more traditional like but he could though.

Also Red Xii i would say he would be more of a monk than anything else. And Tifa i would think she would be a black belt not a monk monks are completely different.

red xiii is kinda of a red mage cuz he kicks in magic and attackingness

Cid has limit breaks involving dragons, he jumps, and he uses a spear, how could he not be a Dragoon?

Cait Sith I’d call a gambler if only because of the slots limit.

Yuffie would be a ninja/thief with a wooden leg

Red XIII is a beast, there are beastmasters so why not a beast class?

I WOULDNT KNOW BUT WHAT I HAVE NOTICED IS THAT EACH AND EVERY CHARACTER HAS A STORYLINE WEIRD OR WHAT!!

Look, the only job system i have come to know is the FFTA one, so…
Cloud – Soldier
Tifa – White Monk
Aeris – White Mage/Summoner
Barret – Gunner
Vincent – Sniper (Traditianally greatbows, but he’s a lot mroe accurate than Barret in my opinion)
RedXII – Paladin (good physical and magical)
Cait Sith – Gadgeteer (Limits might win you the battle or lose you the battle)
Cid – Dragoon
Yuffie – Ninja
