O.O How come FF8’s non-FMV scene is all smooth like in this piccy?! Whoa! Are they trying to make it like 10 or something?! I bet a lot of you already saw this before but, I just wanna know 🙂 I mean, I have yet to play the PC version, not even the demo!!!

i thought it was a fmv,… when they dance at the ballroom and stuff.

This is the biggest advantage of FFlll,
The FMV’s graphics is smooth…………
Compare to FFVll, FFVll’s game play(story) is much more interesting.
So Square Soft tend to produce FFVlll with more focus on graphics and decrease on gameplay(story).

#Note#: The statement stated above is just an opinion. You guyz don’t have to believe what I’ve said.

The PC version does not look as smooth as the PSX version.

And yep, that’s FMV, not in game graphics.

Although the in game graphics for Final Fantasy VIII are among the most impressive ever seen on the Playstation. 🙂

EdeA’s right , that’s FMV , but don’t be dissapointed , the game itself is fantastic , althoug Bahamut says it best " the most impressive grafics (at the time)"

I prefer FFVII and FFX for their story, and FFX also for it’s grafics.

So ithis is the FMV on the PC?! *sobs* I thought this was non-FMV

I mean, yeah, I know the ballroom thing’s FMV, it’s just that well, on the PSX…it looks, so much different O.o I mean as in different-better! Please compare… *sobs*

Thats not an FMV, it’s one of the early ps2 demos that sony made to show the in game graphics power the ps2 was capable of.

Squall_Leonhart8 please check your facts.

Sony doesn’t make Final Fantasy but Squaresoft does (nowadays Square-Enix). Sony never released a tech demo for FF8.

No, what I meant was Sony had Squaresoft make the demo for them. The demo was never released it was only shown at game expositions to demonstrate the graphics power of the ps2.

They did not release a demo but they did release a video demo with the platinum version of FF7.
It has the beggining shown differently without so many flashes of all the FMV’s and the dance scene in a sort of black and white and brown.

well whatever it is, that first piccy of ps1 stuff kicks ass! i only had the pc version (supa-pc bwhahaha) and it was like that pretty much all the way through but im really astounded by the psx stuff its pretty powerful! but if you want stunning visuals, check out ff7-2 advent children, although its only a movie, its like 6billiontrillionzillion pixels per image, its insane.

You’re all whack’d.

And yes…both of those screens are full motion video.
