Tifa vs. Aeris

I couldn’t help it, but after reading one of Tifagirl’s post, I had to start this thread. Sorry ^_^

So…

Tifa and Aeris, they both have their positives and negatives about them. We all debate which one is better suited for Cloud and all that, but that’s not what this thread is about…

Which one would you rather spend a day at a festival with, a night at the movies with, sitting on the beach looking up at the stars?

I prefer Tifa, but I can’t help to lov’em both! Just curious Smokey, but which post of mine made you wanna start this thread? I’m not against you for it, but I just hope it doesn’t start another fight about the characters. I’m not upset or anything, but I’m just tryin’ to keep peace between the fans of each characters. I know it doesn’t hurt to hear anothers opinion, you know just as long as their’s no hate between the fans.

I preferred Aeris’ character in the story. Kind hearted, strong willed, and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the benefit of not only all of her friends, but for the planet as a whole.

Well, I rather have Cloud be with Aeris, but that’s just my liking.
If it was to spend time, it would be Aeris. She’s sweet, gentle, kind hearted, have the heart to speak out and not afraid to died. She also wouldn’t lied about her feelings and will actually tell you if something is wrong….more exactly, she wouldn’t keep anything hidden (like the past) and would be a trustworthy friend (and lover for the guys) :angel:

I Like that aeriscloud! Aerith wasn’t afraid to die. That’s my defending for Aerith against anti-Aerith people. Tifa wasn’t afraid to die either, but alot anti-Aerith people would say she’s too wussy, but you can’t call her a wuss if she went up against Sephiroth by herself! So Aerith isn’t a wuss becuase she wasn’t afraid to die.

I think Aeris would be better suited for Cloud. Tifa is more like a good friend. Also Tifa is quite shy and Aeris has a better personality to help Cloud. I liked what you said, aeriscloud, about her fearlessness (<– is that a word?) of death and speaking her mind. It seems like if Tifa and cloud were together there would be nothing but awkward silence.

Thanks Lunatic HighVII! You’re another Aerith fan I found who expresses his/her opinion nicely! I liked what you and aeriscloud said. Aerith may not look fearless, but going against Sephiroth without Cloud protecting her was fearless! To me Tifa contributed saving the planet by joining avalanche to stop Shinra from sucking the life from the planet with thier mako, and Tifa did that before she found Cloud again. So she helped save the planet without Cloud.

Wait a minute…….. I just found myself another reason to like both Tifa and Aerith! Aerith saved the planet by going up against Sephiroth without Cloud protecting her, and Tifa joined Avalanche before she met up with Cloud, so she did something for their planet also without Cloud! So Aerith and Tifa contributed to the planet without Cloud’s help at one time! Yes another reason to love them both so much! I guess I only prefer Tifa because her style of clothes are mine and her attitude is simalar to mine. I still love both Tifa and Aerith for thier power of their friendship! Ya gotta hand it to Tifa and Aerith!

Tifa all the way, reason being is because she can stand up for her self and she is just soooo cute.

Thats also why she’s so good for Cloud.

Cloud wouldn’t have to defend her all the time because she is strong. Plus he always loved Tifa and she felt the same way. Aries didn’t know Cloud for as long, he still protected her and she took care of him, so did Tifa. If you ask me id hate to be cloud in that situation, because choosing between girls can leave one in a lot of pain.

Aries is a nice girl, don’t get me wrong. But the truth is Tifa would be in a lot of pain if he chose Aries over her, after all their bond is very strong. Cloud had the option to tell Aries that he loved Tifa from the start, Aries is just Clouds friend and nothing more. Tifa on the other hand is in love with him.

Besides, didn’t aries already have a boyfriend that she broke up with? if you ask me she’d probably be better off without a boyfriend, but stick with Cloud for protection. (i think personally she shoud go with Barret, because he has a daughter without a mother and Aries is loving enough for the job.) Barret did show some sympathy towards her.

Tifa and Aries are pretty much the same people, just brought up in different curcumstances, ones a terrorist that everyone loves but can never have (which makes her soo hot!!) and the other is a lonely lost soul looking for someone to save her. Both were strong and both had an awful lot of love to give to one man.

If you ask me, this truly isn’t worth debating because inevitably someone is gonna get hurt, and i personally don’t like to see a girl in pain.

Truthfully, nothing was gonna happen until the battle was over. Thats why Cloud went to Tifa at the end, because they went through soo much, the survived as did their love. Thus Tifa would out rank Aries. But Cloud will always remember her, and also feel a love for her too. Tifa would understand (because that’s how she is.)

Lets see what happens in Advent Children. From what ive seen so far, Cloud and Tifa have built a relationship stronger that Metor itself, they fight in unison and for one another. (the church scene) Thats how you can tell how much a person loves another, not through sacrifice, but through if they are prepared to fight together to save one another, Love is not made by the one person its made by two…

I played FF7 in high school, I think. I found Aeris to be way too whiny, and I didn’t like how Tifa looked. But a girl who could pack a punch is always cool with me. I wish I could pack a punch.

I really loved Yuffie, though. She and Vincent were my favorite characters.

Okay…calling Aeris pathetic is just so wrong. And who says Cloud had confindence…..I think it was something along memory lane with Tifa in the lifestream…Looks like Cloud never had a speck of confidence until he join Soldier and met cool dude Sephiroth and opposite attitude of Cloud, Zack.
More exactly, Cloud was a loner who wanted to make friends but was rejected by Tifa and her group. Why do you think he always get into fights ? Not because he was a trouble mess up kid but a person who had feelings and wanted to join. To have a friend….. To tell them stuff…share secrets…play games…That’s what having friends are for. Looks to me, his only friends were Zack and Sephiroth. Sorry, I can’t say that Cloud and Tifa were friends because…They were never friends.
Even that trip in memory lane prove that. If they were friends, Cloud would had never joined soldier and Tifa and Cloud would had been dating or something, but of course, it didn’t. The only truth that ties Cloud to Tifa is that they grew up in the same town and he had a crush on her…they were never childhood friends in the start. Meeting on one night at the well doesn’t count because it doesn’t make up for the memories that Cloud could had if he had friends.

A person can still love someone who is not with them anymore if that person is precious to them. Just because Aeris dies, it doesn’t mean that Tifa automatically wins. (It also doesn’t mean Aeris wins too,so don’t get mad at me..Tifa Fans.) If that person was precious to you, who gave up their life or isn’t with you anymore, the memories that were share will always be there in your heart. You can still love that precious person and hope to meet that precious person one day.

Aeris and Tifa both did their parts to change Cloud. More exactly, it look like he loved them both. Cloud never did ended up with Tifa because if he did, the love triangle thingy would have solve itself and Cloud wouldn’t had end up in two other games, searching for his lost love. But he did. In almost every square games, there are support characters and that is what Tifa is. She’s a support character and Cloud and her both count on that mutual bonding to support each other in battle. It was even stated in one of the mags. about AC. But then again, Vincent and the others are also support characters too. Sorta like the love triangle thingy in FF8 with Squall-Main cool guy with weapon, Rinoa-girl with great magic/healing, and Quistis-support character who had a crush on Squall-But this was solved.
And if Cloud had to choose Aeris or Tifa, no doubt both girls will be hurt. But then, they both have understanding hearts too.
Anyway, its true that Aeris had a boyfriend but they never broke up. He disappeared for quite a long time and she assumed that Zack dumped her for some other girl never knowing that he died trying to protect Cloud. If Zack and Cloud had made it, then Zack would had been with Aeris and Cloud with Tifa but he never did.
Pretty much, its all in how Cloud feels and who he loves the most. He never ended up with Tifa or Aeris but he kept searching for his lost love in two other games. :angel:

I think probably both were sutible for Cloud, but I think Aeris would come out on top. Although Tifa and Cloud were childhood friends, Tifa always just accepted Cloud for who he was, I guess. On the contrary, when you go to the Gold Saucer for the second time before the Temple of the Ancients, she says, " I want to meet…you." This to me represented some sort of desire to come to know Cloud. Plus, you could say that Aeris rediscovered Zach in Cloud, because Cloud basically is a lot like Zach, and so maybe she could find her love for him in Cloud again. But, I don’t know, it’s just a theory, so….

id say tifa is more suited for cloud cause they know each other better(they were so called childhood friends)

I almost cried when Sepheroth killed aries and was swearing for the next 2 hours (my mom didnt like it). Also, Tifa was also a bit whiney, so i have to side with aries

Tifa wasn’t whiney, she was just sensetive and defensive at the same time. She was sensitive because she had a hard time in her past.

I think Cloud does’nt deserve Aeris, Aeris is such a pure girl she’s the Ancient generation while Cloud is just a lad from the Slums.

Apart from that, Tifa is also from the Slums, so i say………Tifa fits Cloud the most…..and Cloud should’nt touch Aeris cause he dont deserves her!

Ya, I agree, Aerith is too pure. That’s why I think Cloud and Tifa deserve eachother. Aerith is cool, but she’s too pure for me. I’m not saying this to judge Aerith, but alot of the times people who strive to be pure end up saying sex is a sin. That’s not right becuase its just like saying nature is a sin. If we can’t do it, than people and animals can’t be born into this world.

Hmm…I don’t think it matters if Aeris is pure or Cloud is from the slum. If you love that precious person, you would love them no matter what because they are important to you..someone you want to be with never the less of who that person is or where that person comes from. Its sorta like Zidane and Garnet from FF9…it didn’t matter is she was a princess or Zidane wasn’t a prince….they still love each other and didn’t let this surpass them over their love.

It’s like Garnet and Zidane, but I think Garnet and Zidane are a ripoff of Tifa and Cloud, just for there look alikes I mean. Garnet looks like Tifa because they both have the lose ponytail.

I guess I think Cloud and Tifa would work out becuase they have more in common. Those who have more in common get along better. I guess opposites attrack too. That was hard for me to beleive at first, until I had some experience with it. I guess you want to have alittle bit of both in common and opposites. Sometimes thinking about it, Cloud deserves both Tifa or Aerith in alot of ways. They’re both good couples. I just like Tifa better becuase her taste in clothes are more compared to mine. Not skanky, but tight clothes. I know in AC, she wears a dress, but its a black dress and that’s another style I have in clothes, wearing black. I like Aerith too because she reminds me of my best friend. I’m like Tifa and she’s like Aerith. That’s why I love them both because that duo reminds me of my duo.

I’d say Aeris because she and cloud seeemed to have a good relationship going.Tifa is great too, but I think tifa and cloud would have just been friends.I wouldn’t date someone I knew all my life, personally.It just wouldn’t quite work out.

More exactly, we do read it…(or its just me since I can’t speak for others). I like to read everyone else post starting from page 1 til the end before I post to see what everyone else says.

I like what you said about Aeris and its true. Tifa can sometimes be quite like that. I would rather have a friend like Aeris because she always speak her mind out and never keeps anything hidden. Plus I just hate manipulative people who are so-called friends that used you and latched onto you like your someone who is sooo important to them. Please, if that person were a true friend, they wouldn’t do that….unless they’re not and just like to do that, then, that’s another story.

Hmm…I saw nothing wrong with Garnet or Zidane. They did have different personalities not like Cloud or Tifa or any other characters from FF7. I don’t think it matters if their hair was blond or black. I guess to me, they both look different, sorta like Squall and Rinoa. Each character in FF doensn’t look alike to me.

I just know Garnet looks more like Tifa than Aerith. Tifa’s not manipulative, she’s just scared of being lonely. I would be too.

Well lets see, we have Aeris, who met cloud in a church. Aeris used to go out with a 1st class soldier member called Zack. But zack never came home one day. I assume Aeris must have been saddened by this. Cloud bares alot of similarities to zack, maybe thats why aeris took a shine to cloud. Then we have Tifa, a girl who grew up in the same town as cloud. Even though they werent friends exactly, from the flashback i felt there was always some kind of connection between them. However in present day they have more of a chummy thing going on, rather than a romantic relationship. Whereas aeris and cloud seem to click better as a couple, they just feel so right together. But then Aeris ‘supposedly’ dies. This leaves tifa.. However even then they dont seem to hit it off. At the end of FFVII, you see in white writing, errrrm, i cant remember the exact words.. Something along the lines of i will find you one day. I think this was aeris. Anywhoo, my answer is Aeris because Tifa and clouds are pals not lovers.

Well, maybe in terms Yuffie and Tifa doesn’t get along but Yuffie’s limit breaks are a lot better than Tifa, so she still can be in the team. Anyway, Yuffie gave all the materia back and still join the team, noone had a problem with it. It can’t take someone that long to stay mad at Yuffie just because she stole the materia and gave it back because she was sorry she did it-okay, maybe she was a little sorry, but it was for her dreams and Wutai.
And getting into the physical stuff is just plain lame. She got big this and the other girl is so small…blah blah blah…who cares if they’re big or small…If you really love a person, you would love them never the less of their appearance or assets unless your a perverted person who likes things like that. I know Tifa’s just a character from a game but I’m basing it on reality also. Females around the world are still being treated wrong or made cruel remarks of….we have feelings too. Tifa should be treated better without lame remarks like that and not as an object to be used.

Hmm…I still see nothing wrong with Garnet. She just has long hair similar to Tifa, but she did cut it off. Anyway, to me, there’s no resemblence. She told Cloud to close his ears and shut his eyes and Cloud told her not to worry because Sephiroth was playing tricks. Yeah, that’s really considerate of her to be for Cloud when she was really hiding the truth and was afraid of losing Cloud if he ever knew. And it look very obvious that Sephiroth knew that Tifa didn’t enjoy that little ‘truth’ memory trip, even though it was the truth besides Cloud not being in first class soldier but he was there as a regular soldier. She was finally force to tell Cloud after Aeris died and Cloud went confused and hurt about who he was. Yeah, that’s really a nice ‘friend’ that she was. I don’t hate her but I’m okay with her because she’s sorta a good person also.:erm:

That’s good you don’t hate Tifa. I just find Yuffie brattier than Tifa. Yuffie calls Tifa Boobs, and its like Yuffie’s either jealous or hates large breasts. It’s like saying Yuffie would hate me too. That’s why I don’t like Yuffie that much. But Tifa did say if Cloud said something before he met Sephy, she would’ve helped him. The dilema on that is that Cloud and Tifa both had social problems and didn’t say anything. That’s why I think they would suit eachother because they would get along that way. I know just because they have that thing in common, doesn’t mean they would get along, but usually it does. Tifa too was sorry for hurting Cloud’s feelings, not like she couldn’t help it, becuase in the group, Tifa was being ganged up on by the other guys.

Just like Barret said, "Man you got problems! Hell we all do!" So no one could judge who’s the bad character and who’s the good one. But aeriscloud, you did say you didn’t hate Tifa, so I have to believe you on that, you just said there was some things you didn’t like about her. We all have something not everyone likes about us, I guess it depends on what qualities we like and which ones we don’t like. We only get along with those whom have the qualities we like. So I can’t blame you for that. It’s just natural. And mine is Yuffie’s insult to Tifa about her boobs, gives me the impression that Yuffie dislikes bigger women. That’s criticism there. That’s just why I don’t like her.

Exactley. You can see that Tifa’s friends didn’t let her show her soft spot for Cloud. You could see Tifa’s head facing down, that obviously means that she didn’t want to be those guys friends. Anyone could see it was peer presure, so can you blame her for that?

AerisCloud, if it was anyone who was the bad friend, it was those three boys, not Tifa. Tifa was just being pushed around to do that. I’ve had mean friends back in grade school, and I know what it’s like. I got blamed for stuff I didn’t do. Like Tifa, i used to be used to do bad things and didn’t know what to say because of my social disorders. That’s why I really like Tifa because I have sympathy for her and been in so many of her situations. I think all it was could’ve been a social disorder she had that held her back from expressing her inner feelings. I feel for Tifa.

And that’s why I didn’t think starting this thread was a good idea. More people need to realize that they were friends not enemies! This thread will just promote pointless wars between Aerith and Tifa fans. I hope someone will close this thread. I think only a moderator can do that.

Yup, you can’t have a team without a good healer! I always used a white mage in other Final Fantasys! From Terra to Aerith, from Garnet to Yuna!

Those boys can’t be blame for something that Tifa didn’t want to escape out of. More exactly, you have a choice to stay with them or make new friends. If they made fun of Cloud, tease him, ignore and totally BS him, then it is entirely everyone fault in that group. Tifa can’t be considerate innocent. She was involved as much as the other boys. I don’t remember Yuffie giving such bad remarks like that to Tifa. I’ve put both of them in my team and they ususally ignore or don’t talk to each other. I still would rather prefer Yuffie to Tifa since she has a spunky attuitude. It’s not like Cloud and Tifa were the only one with social problems…the rest of the group also had their problems too. But still, its like I say, I don’t hate Tifa, she’s sorta a good person at heart…..I don’t really mind about her qualities…I never judge a person until I get to know them and how they treat you and respect you. But it’s like I say, her guy friends are not the total blame for something Tifa didn’t back out of. She’s as much to blame as any of the other guys in the little trio that they had. Someone being shunned and treated like dirt when all they want to do is make friends can be scarred like that for the rest of their life. They don’t just erase those memeories like it was nothing, it stays with them.

Relax, I like Yuffie almost as much as I like Aeris and Tifa, but i do find her annoying (for doing things like stealing my materia!), and I was just playing off of the stereotypical mormon lifestyle. I doubt that Cloud would beat Yuffie. He’s just not like that. If he got pissed off I bet he would just give her tthe cold shoulder or just shrug or something like that. So, yeah. Okay aeriscloud, Tifa is not to blame. In cerain places you don’t always have a choice to leave or make new friends. The place Tifa lived in was small. Those were the only boys who were her age she could hang out with. Maybe she never thought of making the choice, she was young, not like she would always know what’s right and wrong at such a young age, so again, you can’t blame her. Where I lived, the whole school used me and I was young and didn’t know they were using me, and my mom was on lower budget, so she couldn’t get me outta the school right away, so I too had no choice but to stay with those phony friends. I was around Tifa’s age. The least you can do is forgive her. She did after all learn from her mistakes, and in the end apologized to Cloud. It has been resolved with them, so it’s over. Well you did say Tifa matured, and it shows you forgive her.

As for Yuffie, I don’t know, but on a Yuffie shrine, it said Yuffie made a nasty remark about Tifa, but, maybe if you date Yuffie, you have the choice to get her to say that. I don’t know really. I’m sorry, but I don’t see how you can prefer Yuffie to Tifa. Tifa and Aerith are more friends than Yuffie and Aerith, that’s just my opinion. Stealing isn’t any better than making a social mistake. I don’t think Tifa is dishonest with herself, I think she just may have Social Anxiety Disorder, or at least she shows some symptoms of it. That’s why I like her so much, because I feel sorry for her that way.

Master Nabeshin, if people are born messed with a dissability up or a death of someone they love comes up, its not their fault. All the more reason to feel sorry for them than to blame them for something they never did or were able to help.

This dude has a point. Tifa is overall better in attack and personality. Aeris is very weak and only good for healing which I usually use that for materia. Her only really good use is Planet Protector and Venus Gospel which make you invincible for a certain amount of turns.

I just have to say that Tifa pretty much had a normal life…her life wasn’t messed up or like hell like Cloud’s or Aeris’s. They went through much hardships than everyone else on the team. I don’t think Tifa had any disabliity…she pretty much was herself living a normal life…running a bar and joining Barret’s team. Cloud and Aeris face much worst things in their life. It sorta like on the outside they tried to stay strong but on the inside they’re confused, hurt, and sad. But still…she’s sorta a good person at heart and like you said, I did stated that she matured and it was true..but quite a bit late…but still…she did matured towards the end and learn about some of her mistakes. So I’m just saying that I don’t hate her, just incase you get the wrong idea, and that she’s a good person at heart. Being a lonewolf is always better than having friends who are morons.

For someone to share secrets too…let my most inner feelings out…knowing that someone will give me good advice..it’ll have to be Aeris. For someone to hang out with and give me a spunky attitude…kick someone butts if they get on our nerves..it’ll be Yuffie. She has that kind of attitude.

If I wanted a wild night I’d call Tifa, if I wanted a quality, truly loving realtionship, I’d call Aeris. Although, Aeris might be wild in her own way if you get to know her…you never know.. I’ve been suprised by girls in similar ways before…

Spending a day out…It would be Aeris. She’s a great friend and would cut the quietness. Aeris will have so many things to talk about with me that I’ll eventually cave in. If it was Tifa, I think we’ll have nothing to say to each other. I like to think about things and be in deep thought…so its going to be super quiet and boring if I hang out with Tifa. Yuffie…she’s too cool not to hang out and I would need her for kicking someone’s butt. She has that kinda attitude that would make me smile when I’m down, just like Aeris. But with her, its..1-2-3…Let’s kicked someone’s butt for hurting our feelings. Oh yeah, hanging out with Yuffie will be fun.

Well,TifaGirl,
Hanging out with Tifa isn’t a bad idea, I just think we wouldn’t have nothing to talk about. It probably be quiet and maybe boring but at least we can stare off into the horizons or at the stars for fun and maybe make one-two sentence conversations. In a way, her quietness is sorta like mine but having one-two sentence conversations will cut through that quietness…for a while. Maybe she just likes to think deeply about things ?
Ummm….I have friends but I don’t really need a relationship now. Maybe never until I think I do? Maybe its just me, but I like being a lonewolf and doing things on my own without criticism or remarks. It also gives me time to do stuff and finish them. I do have friends to talk to and help me out…but, I just don’t planned to hang out with them, maybe just once in a while. I guess that’s just how I am. I don’t really get lonely….There are a lot of things I do that keeps me preoccupied and having a relationship is not something I would like to put into my time. But then again, its just me but thanks for telling me on how you feel about it.

Aeriscloud, I understand how you feel. I used to be that way too wanting to get things done and I used to think spending too much time with friends may keep me from getting things done. I can understand why you may not wanna hang out with Tifa as much as Yuffie and Aerith. If two people are quiet in a conversation, it will be a quiet one. I understand where you’re coming from there. Maybe Tifa’s doing the same thing you do from what you told me. Tifa doesn’t talk too much you think, and she’s getting things done while running her business.

but something was missing, so when i find a realy good friend we use to sit on the roof of my house and watch the stars at night, and it was great, you know, to talk on everything – no secrets, nothing to hide and all that.
but now i think that being alone is good for short periods only cause i need my friends, their care for me, their love and understanding. i know that they allways be there for me no matter what so i think i can never go back to be a lonewolf again, i’ll miss then too much…

Actually my life is most like…uhhh… Cloud’s actually. Some of my memories are all jumbled up, I’m a fierce opponent in combat, and I’ve had some weird, medical stuff done that I’m not quite sure what it is. Woke up one time in a chair in a dark, empty room except for medical moniters and and wires attached to my head…no really, I did! I’ve previously suspected that I’m a cyborg or the government tried to turn me into a super-soldier killing machine, but I really don’t think so anymore. So yeah, I’m most like Cloud.

Oh, and Aeris would beat Tifa with her stick.

Aeris all the way, but that doesn’t mean I hate Tifa.

Yes I think she did and just wanted to make up for her lost boyfreinds. She did love the real Cloud in the end, but I think she needs to stick to her old love and Cloud needs to stick with his original love interest, so it wouldn’t anger Zack and Tifa and leave them alone. I think when they made Aerith die, I know they made it for a different reason, but I think she could now be with Zack her first love, and Cloud could be with his love Tifa. I just think when eventually Cloud and Tifa die, in heaven Aerith already has Zack again then Cloud is with Tifa then. I know the storyline wanted it completley different, but I think it would be best the other way around in my opinion. That’s why I support Aerith and Zack and I support Cloud and Tifa.

Aeris never really loved Zack the way she loved Cloud. She liked him for a while, but that???s about it.

The same with Cloud and Tifa. Cloud never loved Tifa. Even if he wanted her to like him, when they where kids. That was more kidsplay. They were still young. Cloud just wanted to be accepted and everything…can???t talk about love there.

The same when they met again, after all these years. All you could see there, was Tifa trying hard on him. Of course, why not. They???re both grown up now, he???s a good looking guy and everything. Heck this is a tough call, it’s my first time playing FF7 and yes, I’m totally hooked! I’m just up to the point after the Temple of Ancients where Aeris leaves the party for good…

Thing is, using Aeris and Tifa together kicks ass! (or switch Tifa with Cloud if I equipped "Long Range" on Cloud instead of Tifa).

Heck I’ve refused to use a Phoenix Down on Cloud and defeated 2 bosses with Aeris and Tifa. 🙂

Both are real good characters (and blame the young Japanese male population on Tifa’s attire…she looks like a typical cute girl from a Japanese Comic made for males) and well I’d go with Aeris, just a personal preference but both are real good.

I’ve never been able to understand why Square designed her that way either. Her character design is a huge turn-off to me- I expect silly stuff like that from fighters, but it’s not something I especially want to see in a Final Fantasy.

Honestly, I think I was a bit prejudiced against Tifa from the start just because of the way she was designed. 🙁

I only love fictional characters because of a deep, perfectly reasonable Freudian reason. I can try to vocalize it, but I’m not sure if it’ll come out right… simply put, anyone you love is partially all in your mind anyway, even if the person does love you back, so as I see it, I love their personality, and in my mind (as well as many other people’s minds) they’re real as real can be.

You guys, there’s nothing wrong with Tifa’s big boob on her design. Maybe they did that because too many fictional characters are too skinney and it makes women think they’re too fat and it makes them feel bad. Personally I think it’s kind of a good thing that they actually made a character with larger breasts, than it doesn’t make me feel bad about my weight and the size of my chest. Heavenscloud01, I’m glad you look at her personality and like her for that! She is awsome and needs more respect. I’m glad you have respect for her personality too! She may have made some social mistakes and some Aerith fans need to realize that she’s just misunderstood and just didn’t know how to treat Cloud when she was little. She loved Cloud even when she was little, just had a hard time explaining it. So I’m glad you think her personality is good! That’s why she had friends like Aerith to help her feel not so afraid. Tifa would make a great phsycologist!

LOL, that’s a good question, but I wouldn’t know coz’ I’m not a bisexual/lesbian. But judging from most shoujo-ai stories I had read, bisexuals/lesbians are more concerned about the personality and the beauty, LOL. Come to think of it, what’s the use of big boobs if you’re ugly, LOL, but Tifa got both the looks and the boobs, but to moi, it doesn’t matter coz’ you’ve seen alot of those characters in anime, and afterall, Tifa’s just a fictional character. *shrugs*

Both girls do deserve Cloud, but I think Aeris would have been the better partner. She was the one that changed a lot about Cloud. If it wasn’t for her, Cloud may have been more of a jerk.

That was a good point you make about Tifa but it can also be vice versa. Some women do feel cruel remarks if they have big boobs and is made fun of or foul language given to them. I just think it works both ways and can be vice versa. Noone is better than anyone. Everyone is special, good looking, pretty or have their own good traits, I just think some people can’t see that because its hidden or they haven’t discovered it yet.
Back to the topic, both girls can be fun if time was spent on them. I would really hang out with Aeris first, then Yuffie, and then Tifa. They would all be great friends and I would enjoy their friendship and their dazzling great personalities.;)

I still don’t know. I’m thinking that it depends on how the player views the storyline and relates with the characters in order for him/her to consider one girl over the other. There’s a lot of good points for either case.

In my experience, if the girl REALLY wants to be with the guy above all else (even through fear of rejection), then she will tell him, and if tthe guy feels the same, it usually turns out very well. However, if either of them mask their feelings for any reason (other than the fact that they’re physically or mentally unable to express their emotions or that they really just don’t get that the other person is coming on to them/ being serious) then it’s still possible, but much harder on the pair. Now, between Cloud and Tifa, nothing was happening there, maybe every once in a while there’d be a little spark, but nothing was happening other than that, even though it was obvious that Tifa did care very much for Cloud. Aeris, though, comes right out and expresses herself with little or no hesitation. You’ll notice that something was happening and that it would probably continue to grow until Sephiroth killed Aeris. (or maybe Tifa paid him to do it!? *dun dun dun*) Yeah, I’m up too late again.

Seeing that FF7 was a Japanese game made in Japan…no…Aeris was not a slut. More exactly, when it got here, the US Squaresoft just translate it to be more easier or like…Sub vs. Dub type of thing. So in many ways, maybe she didn’t say that at all.

Aeris isn’t a slut at all. If it means that in Japan, then obviously, that person is taking it the wrong way. But then it works both ways for Aeris and Tifa. The way Tifa dressed can be deferred that she’s a slut or prositute. Many people just look at it or interpret it in the wrong way.
Anyway, both girls had an amount of love for Cloud and he obviously made his choice of whom he wanted to be with.
More exactly, the only thing Cloud had on Tifa was a childhood crush. If you notice, he didn’t quite feel the same after Aeris died-more like depressed and blaming himself for not protecting her right, when he lost his mind because he was confused and fed with lies, and he came to terms on his true feelings at the end of disk 3…which was for Aeris. If Tifa had meant a speck to him, he would had wanted her to go with him to look for Aeris but he said,"I", as in himself and no one else. He also didn’t gave a speck about her when he gave his famous speech of "what everyone was fighting for" and totally forgotton that Tifa had no one. Yeah, that’s really a ‘great’ love relationship when the other spose doesn’t gave a damn about your well-being.

I have absolutely nothing to say to that…except that I am a huge fan of Aeris as well. Yet, I am unoffended by the truth, at least in this respect. Some truths piss me off rather a lot. Such as the 200 elections being rigged and the culprits going unpunished, due to their manipulation of the system. Well, revolution time.

If you were talking about my statement…then…its true. The truth may hurt..or not, but that’s how it is. It’s a Japanese game and when you compared it to anime, its like the sub vs dub thing. It could be translated wrong, traslated close to the meaning, or made up entirely to get the script going.
Although, I feel the same way about the election too. It look like it was rigged.

It was rigged. Over 50,000 people were illegally denied of theeir right to vote in the Florida election. Long explanation, but they were.

Anyway, yeah, that’s true about the Subvs. Dub thing…except that in anime the lines are usually changed to accompany the lip movements. In FFVII, there were only text bubbles, so there was no need to deviate form the original text. While there was still a multitude to translate, there was no need to utilize time to change the text to make sure the characters didn’t speak out of sync. Also, that was a pretty important scene, so I doubt it was taken lightly. I have a friend who can translate a page of Japanese manga to english in about 10 seconds flat. People like that get into translating. So.. it’s not likely that something was mistranslated when you consider the conditions. Not impossible, but still unlikely.

That rumor about the Florida election being rigged is only partially true. Most of what’s said is total bunk. The fact is (and I can support this) that the outcome was honest, no matter how dirty the proceedings were.

Well, if you look at it in one way…it was rigged. Master Nabeshin did made a very good point. Every state seriously need a new voting system…but that’s just my thought.

It’s true. But videogames that come from Japan are like anime and can be mistranslated or translated to something easier. It’s like that big debate on Aeris’s name. It may just be text in bubbles but manga are like that too and I notice that some manga are translated wrong or close to the meaning. Eh, I guess its just based on the company’s decision.

Well, Tifa I think wears a bra and her shirt isn’t a sports bra, it’s a tank top. I think she wears a sports bra under it and beleive it or not, they do have good sports bras for women with larger breasts, and mine works really well. I always loved Tifa’s outfit in the game because I think it’s hip and cool! That would be an outfit I would wear everyday!

About what "I want to meet you" in Japan, Aerith isn’t a slut, but I’m not surprised on what it would it would mean because in Japan I know sex is okay on T.V. and they would want to make most of the characters in there sacred fiction sexually inclined. Doesn’t mean they are sluts, but just want to love.

I just want to give a shout out to people, Tifa and Aerith are not sluts. They are lovers of only one man and that’s Cloud. So that means they are not sluts. I just support Tifa and Cloud the best.

There’s your answer right there! Tifa could not do all of her moves in a button down dress. It would be kinda hard doncha think? Of course my good friend Lunatic High VII knows I love Tifa and Aerith!

Aerith and Tifa wanted someone to love and Tifa needs to do all her moves. Now I know in AC her outfit is less revealing, but she wears shorts and not a dress to do all her moves. I love both Aerith and Tifa. Aerith is my favorite, but I find no reason why I shouldn’t like Tifa as well. They’re both beautiful people. Everyone has some stratches and dents, so why hold it against them?

Aeris doesn’t have any dark secrets but Tifa would. Why else would Cloud went to his downfall after all those secrets and lies from Tifa?

Why do you blame Tifa? I’m not telling you to stop your hate for her…she is a game character, after all, so it doesn’t matter. So your telling me that’s it not Tifa’s fault? Hard to believe but yes, it was her fault anyway. She claims to be Cloud’s friend and if she loved him, then she wouldn’t had lied to him. Relationships count on trust too and if you can’t even trust your spouse, then its gameover. Cloud ask her on numerous occasions on where she was, what happen that day, if she knew Zack…..and what did she do, ignore the subject or totally denied it. Even Cloud started to doubt her and was getting the feeling that she was hiding something. If she had told him a speck of truth, like Cloud had asked, maybe he wouldn’t had went to his downfall.
And about Cloud’s childhood, of course it was all lies. Tifa and Cloud weren’t even friends at all, Cloud’s childhood was a total mess, and one day at the well makes up his childhood ? That is total crap. Tifa even admitted to Cloud in memory lane that she didn’t even knew him well. As I recall, little Cloud made a statement about Tifa and her stupid friends always laughing at every single thing…which would mean that she wasn’t peer pressure into making fun and hurting Cloud’s feelings. She was also part of it too until guilt kicked in.
The things she did to Cloud was not even out of love. It was only a way for her to keep an eye on Cloud and have him be close to her but of course, Cloud chose his own path…seeing that he’s no longer have any strings attached to her.

yep, tifa just hung out with them, I don’t think she really was close with them. they always made fun of cloud, but tifa never joined in, and she probbaly would have even stuck up for him if she wasnt so depressed by her mom’s death. she wasnt close with cloud either, but she would never make fun of him. theres nothing wrong with aeris either… theyre both beautiful people… tell me, tifa_martial_artist… just out of curiosity, are you an anti-aerith, or do you just prefer tifa?

Most usernames with some form of Final Fantasy character name are bad. There are a lot more with "Tifa" in the username than "Smoke", or something like that.

If that was true, then I think that Cloud woulda say something different but he didn’t. That one liner that he literally say does point out that Tifa was as much in it as the guy friends too. He was the biggest victim of that hurt and it really scarred him. My biggest sympathy is for Cloud, seeing what he went through to get where he is.

You’re right. I agree with both of you in different ways… It’s true, it’s hard for Tifa fans to accept, but it’s true that if Tifa would have just told Cloud the truth from teh beginning, he wouldn’t be messed up. BUT, if she did tell him the truth, he would be confused still. Either way, Tifa should have told him the truth. She DID do it out of love and friendship, but it turned on her. Cloud made himself believe in his memories, which decieved him even more. All because Tifa couldn’t allow herself to break the news to him, he had his downfall. Now he has breakdowns and confusion, and voices that haunt him at night.

Aerith on the other hand, had nothing to hidefrom Cloud because she didn’t know him as well. I think Cloud needs Aerith to open him up, and that’s why i prefer Aerith. She doesn’t hide anything, she’s out going, and she’s honest. I have nothing against Tifa. My opinion is that Aerith and Cloud are better suited for each other. Even Yuffie could do that! Still, Cloud and Aerith all the way.

normally I would lean toward tifa, but she seems to be a little more violent than Aeris, so I’d have to say that Aeris is the best for Cloud.

Aeris is definately for Cloud, but when it comes to fanfictions, I read about both Aeris/Cloud and Tifa/Cloud. Heck, once I even read a Aeris/Tifa. ^_^;
