How would you make the next FF?

If you were in the seat of director of FFXIII, how would you make the game?
Would it be more western/japanese? More realistic/cartoony graphics? Would it be Futuristic (VIII) sort of Medieval (IX) or inbetween (X)? What kind of villain will you have? What kind of characters? What kind of battle system? What kind of fmv’s? Would you have a love theme (X) ? A happy ending? A tragic ending?
