Clouds promise

I’m just curious of how many people realized that Cloud indeed kept his promise to Tifa. If you think back and remember this line "If I’m ever in a bind and I’m in trouble, I want my hero to come and rescue me! I want to experience that atleast once." Well at the end of Disk 3 Tifa falls off the ledge and Cloud jumps and catches her, rescuing her.

You’re right, in fact, I just finished reading the script and there was another time he fufilled his promise. After searching for himself in the lifestream, Cloud remembers that it was Zack in his place. Sephiroth killed Tifa’s father, and almost killed Zack. Zack then tells Cloud "Cloud…kill Sephiroth…". Cloud then challenges Sephiroth and admits that he returned to Nibelheim to make sure nothing happened to Tifa.

Very good…..how long did it take you to figure that out?

Often the most obvious things said are the ones that take the longest to grasp. And the most obvious clues are the ones that fall into place last.

I had never thought of what Safer Sephiroth had said in that particular way until he mentioned it, and now he does, it ties up the beginning and end of the story very nicely. And it does kind of show how Cloud evolved a little as a character, beyond the caring for only himself up to actually willing to save someone else.

Oh sorry, off topic there. Yup, in so many ways he kept his promise: the time when he helped her in Don Corneo’s mansion, the time when she got slashed by Sephiroth and he gently carried her and laid her down on the side :love:! He loved her alot!
