Phecking Eggs

If you have been online today, you have probably noticed the abundance of people in any city you enter shouting about selling eggs. That’s right, easter is being celebrated in Vana’diel

The concept of the egg-hunt is this. Each egg has a letter A – Z. You start by talking to a moogle in the town, and he will give you your first egg to start with at random, and ask you for the first combonation of letters to give him.

The first combonation is the first three letters of your name.

Example: My name is Riverwind, so I would have to give him the eggs "R" "I" and "V"

The ways I have found to get eggs are, you can trade the moogle 12 Bird Eggs and he will give you an egg at random. You can find eggs while logging, and I assume you can do so with mining, and harvesting also, but that hasn’t been confirmed by me. The moogle will also give you a new egg at random every Vana’diel day.

Your reward for the first combonation is a Chocobo Ticket.

After you give him your first combonation, he will ask for the second "super combonation"
This combonation is 8 eggs, starting with the first letter of your name and moving in alphabetical order, starting over after the Z.

Example: Fo myself it was "R" "S" "T" "U" "V" "W" "X" "Y"

After trading these to the moogle, your reward is a Happy Egg. As of now, I am not sure what this item does.

Add any more information you would like, this is as far as I have gotten right now.

KNOWN COMBOS and REWARDS

1) First three letters of your name gives you chocobo tickets, or a colored drop.

2) 8 consecutive letters starting with the first letter of your name gives you a Happy Egg.

3) 7 of the same letter gives you a Lucky Egg

Get eggs and bazaar them. Much better returns. ;3

I can’t find the Moogle who gives them in Windy, but I don’t really care. I’m too busy cooking (Level 35 ^^). And, you might be able to guess my beliefs on Easter :P.

Oh well, the yelling is what makes me mad. I go to buy meat from the AH, and there’s tons of shouts about this egg for that egg. Annoying 😡

Agreed. It is quite annoying. But egg trading is so profitable, it’s worth it. I made 40,000 just today, plus completed all the possible combos known at this time.

Phecking eggs indeed, i decided to go visit my home town (San d’Oria) since i’ve been away from it for a while, plus there was this event going on. I zoned into the area and my chat box was going crazy with shouts. OO;
I saw people selling the eggs…SO I STARTED SELLING THEM ASWELL! 😀 15k in my pocket.

I got 3 M’s 🙁

Typo has made about 80k with this whole egg thing. Some people I know have managed to surpass 100k, but they were taking advantage of things from the time the easter event began. Eggs were selling for up to 5k each on the first day, and from then on continued to drop to about 2k, 1k, and now you’re lucky to get even that.

Oh well!
