I’ll answer this.
FFXI, unlike Lineage and RO, cannot be downloaded off of the net and simply be paid for the monthly fee. You must pay the 50 dollars (or 100 if you’re buying the PS2 version) to play it and you must also pay for the online fee.
There is, of course, ways you can get a copy of the game… but you won’t be able to just install your friend’s copy and expect to play it online. You MUST buy the game because you need registration codes for everything (Your Playonline Account, FFXI, Tetra Master, Zilart Expansion).
