Wutai Village

Does anyone know if the Wutai village part of the story is optional or not because what happens when you go there and you don’t have Yuffie? Not that I have ever done that but I would like to know if anyone that didn’t know about Yuffie went there and what happened when they did.

It is optional.
If you don’t have Yuffie you can still go there.
Yuffie herself is optional.
If you don’t have Yuffie and you still go there you’ll miss out on a good level-up oprotunity.
If you don’t go there period you’ll miss out on good items, including Leviathan Materia.
It’s usually recomended you go there.

Yeah I know cause I have done it many times but I wonder if I could go there anytime in the game????? Anyone know?

I think it occurred to me once on disk 2… But I can’t remember for sure… Because after a while, the Turks become inaccessible… I really can’t think if I did do it later on in the game or not, but I’m pretty sure it occurred to me on disk 2 at some point because I didn’t get Yuffie until later on in the game.

Yeah I decided to go straight to the temple cause it isn’t like I’m not strong enough (I already have Great Gospel and Finishing Touch and Stardust Ray Limit Breaks) but I might go back some time cause then the pyramid bosses will be easier and so will the guy on Dao-chao when you don’t have materia.

You can do it on disk 2 up to the point (SPOILER AHEAD!)

when you fight the Turks under Midgar at the end of Disk 2. Also, I usually do it on disk 2, with the Tiny Bronco.

Right. If you haven’t done Yuffie’s subquest by then, sayonara. You can still visit Wutai, but nothing special will happen. In fact, you won’t be able to get the materia in the one shop and the lady will say something like "And at this point in the game, it’s too late to be worrying about materia as well."

Hah that is cool. And this is a little of subject but I am just going to say it. I started a new game and named RedXIII Nanaki and at Rocket Town if he is in your party and you introduce yourselves he is like I am Nanaki, otherwise known as Nanaki hehe.

Haha you know come to think of it….I don’t think I have ~*EVER*~ faced the turks in Midgar before. My bad

What? You chose not to fight them each time? I usually fight them. It just seems wrong to me not to let them "end things like Turks," plus you can get some cool stuff.

Yeah every single time I did. I didn’t know at the time that they have good items on them and stuff so I probably should have but I don’t really care. I will this time however because I am trying to do a game where I do EVERYTHING in the game.
