The Rumor Box: Cloud + DMC?

RUMOR: Square Enix is developing a new PS2 action adventure game featuring Cloud from Final Fantasy VII as the lead character, and gameplay similar to Devil May Cry.

Thoughts and opinions?

Twould be friggin awesome as hell, but would it be a sequel or just something that has nothing to do with ff7 except it has cloud in it

That would change Final Fantasy forever… Course it muz have something ta do with the storyline or else pple wont like it.. Anyway i tink it will be cool..

Eh… last action game Square tried to do failed miserably. They just don’t have the expertise for twitch gaming. If a brilliant game with Cloud has a great story, but a horrible control system, then it’s gonna be unforgivable.

That said, the likelihood of this coming to fruition is like <1%.

It might be good but it might become crap, it would change the FF series completely. But i doubt it will be made.

Hmm..That’s interesting to hear…But I doubt they’ll make the sequel game to FFVII with Cloud as the lead character.
I have a feeling it’ll be scrapped altogether since Square other action game kinda sucks.
Especially Parasite Eve I and II…It supposed to be scary and sorta a horror game but a big rip off of the RE series by Capcom…and the bosses are way too hard to beat…I thought Square learn their mistakes.
I think they should just stick to making fantasy games like Final Fantasy.

They should just stick with the FF series, and leave the game the way it is, we love it already, why try to make it better, but actually ending up losing fans. They should just move on. What’s done is done.

wot about creating a Tekken style game in which u cud play as all ur fave charcters frm the FF series?

if it’s an ff fighting game then it should be more like SC2, and lvl’in up weapons and stats, that has some promise ::strokes chin::

They did for the PS, called Energize (Something like that) a tekken like game featuring Cloud, Tifa, and Sephiroth.

it was okay but in no way like scII, soul calibur 2 was awesome, i want a fighting system like that if they make a ff fighting game(and for the record, cloud should of been in SC2 but you can’t win em all)

but if this ff game rumor is like DMC it shouldn’t have a ff7 storyline just be a game with a character who’s cloud and has nothin to do with ff, different storyline and all kinds of stuff, cut of all ff connections and it will have a chance to be good
