My fren and i were discussing anime and we came on the topic of Saiyuki – the twisted version of the chinese novel Journey to the West..

My fren said that the characters were like all too POSING and like they were attention seekers E.g Sanzo always lookin cool when shootin his gun, Or Gojyo go say some classy sentence… They were like Fanboys (or fangirls if it is wrong correct me), ya noe gals hu watch will go say "Ohhh which saiyuki character do u tink its the cutest??" and all…

But storywise, it was funny and touched a bit of everyday life.. all the quotes tat were put forward by the characters…

So wads ur view of Saiyuki? Let the debate begin!

Yeah, they look like posers for first sight. But when you dive deeper into the story or the character’s background, you can find the cause for their behaviour. It’s more clear in the manga than in the anime series that they’re compensating something with their acts and sometimes they’re just saying, not actually doing things. In my POV the first anime series came out a little too silly and easygoing compared to the manga, but I like it the way it is. 🙂
