I was looking through the booklets of all my ff’s and out of them all Cloud is the oldest but the smallest main character, zidane is 16 and 5’8, squall is 17 and 5’8. What do u prefer to use smaller characters or taller characters?

All the main characters are short asses, really…

And there’s never an old main character… I wouldn’t mind seeing a main character who’s in his forties, a widower with a son who hates him because he’s a drunk as a result of it. Then someone invades his country, and his son goes to war, comes back dying. His father picks up his weapon and goes on a quest for revenge. To kill the uber warrior who killed his son.

Of course, on the way he falls in love with a woman and all that sort of stuff, and "adopts" her family, so to speak, before he brings the hero down and becomes ruler of the new country…

But that’s a wee bit off topic…

The characters *could* be any height, to be honest, and I wouldn’t care. Cloud’s height probably is without the hair spiked up… But I would most definitely buy an older main character at least ONCE in the series.

They all look pretty much the same height on the screen anyways… so I don’t see that it matters…

And the reason they are so short is because the games are made in Japan and asian’s are short… and kind of smelly.

I’ve trouble comparing the heights of Zidane and Squall because of the different designs.
And what exactly are their hights in centimeters? 🙁

One foot = 12 inches.

1 inch = 2.5cm (ish)

So, doing the math…

5*12 + 8 = 68 inches… Times by 2.5 is (thinks…) 68 + 68 + 34 = 170cm.

Doesn’t sound too tall for 16/17-year-olds.
Or does anyone who has to do with such people know what their average height is?

I was six foot tall when I was 16, so that to me was average… It’s from my own point of view really…

But you’re right, for teenagers it isn’t uncommon~

And to be honest, the height of a character isn’t gonna be too important in a storyline. Unless there’s a ledge that’s seven feet away and the shorter guy can’t jump that high to reach it, but the tall guy CAN jump to reach it.

the main protagonists should at least be 6’1" (in the cut scenes no matter elsewhere) and hav only one or two other main characters taller. protagonists should also be in their mid-late 20’s

Height isn’t everything. a little under 6′ is appropriate. i’m 18 and 5’6" (has Peruvian/South American blood as well as Irish/French…)
and FFVIII characters like Irvine, Laguna, and Squall looked well over 6", i don’t care what the booklet says.
/me prefers smaller characters cause they’re cuddlier….

Yeh im german/ south american and irish/???? im 16 and 5’6 i think ill only grow to 5’7 and i consider myself kind of short. I prefer smaller characters cos i like under dogs and smaller characters to me seem like under dogs. An in FF7 Clouds height actually was a factor of the game, he was shorter and skinnier than the rest, and he couldnt save Tifa from falling off the cliff cos he was to weak so he wanted to join SOLDIER to be strong like sepheroth.
