I own ff 7,8,9,X, and X-2. The only one that I’ve stayed with long enough to beat is X and im planing to stick with X-2 till i beat it aswell. Anyways, if FFXII isn’t out by the time i beat X-2 im probably gonna fall back on the older FF’s that i havent beaten. I’ve heard good things about 7 from this forum and a few other places, and 7 is the one i got least far on before i quit on it. Would that be the best one to fall on first?

PS i wasn’t sure if this should be put in General or FF7

definetly!!! final fantasy vii is the best final fantasy/video game ever made! i just started my 12th time through it. i never get tired of it. but once you finish it, play ff1 if you can, then 6, 9, 5, and 8.

Final Fantasy 7 was the first FF I played and the one which I played the most. It’s difficult to get into at first but once you’re out of the first section, it opens up quite nicely. The storyline is pretty darn good, and the characters are interesting. The battles aren’t as dull as you first think, and you get caught up in the plot quite easily.

Although age hasn’t done the game justice, it still ranks up there as one of the better RPGs ever made, in my opinion. So do give it a go.

FF7, 9 and 10 would be your best bets. Ja, this belongs in General FF.

7’s probly your best bet, but i think it’s over-rated. i’d go with 9 cuz i love the fmv.s, but if you wanted to go with a story line, 4 was my top time favorite… seemed harder tho when they called it 2? oh well… play them all, well worth it!

what I would suggest, from the ff collection you have, play them in the order they came out. 7, 8, 9. If you can get ahold of the earlier FF’s, you HAVE to play FF6, the one FF which I consider to be the best (And yes, I know that’ll probably get me flamed, but that’s what I think!) or play FF4.

hmm i must flame you…………its not that good ive got it and well i started it and i dunno something happend….

7 IS THE DADDY

the plot is complex but that is the point its engrossing the othes are good but if you want plot get 7 want a cool love story get 8 if you want….erm a kinda monkey thing as a hero get 9 and if you want snes graphics get the rest

VII is great. (Or it was, as I recall) If you’re not too hung up on graphics, I say go for it.

I would have to say 7,6,4 and then 10

I agree with the others, beat VII first. What others seem not to have mentioned is that in a lot of ways, What sets ff VII apart from the other ff’s is the environment. I don’t mean graphics (of course) but presentation. It almost feels like a story like this could unfold in own world, except for not having magic.
This might just be me, but the modernism of this game (and of course, the awsome plot) was really what made me enjoy it.

That’s tough if you own those games and didn’t beat them as you bought them. unless you bought them all at once then you have a problem…but nobody knows your interests Vanga so go with whichever game you seem to be caught up in…if you like them all, choose a view and act, cause each FF after FFVI is special.
if you ask me though: don’t play FFIX too much, maybe just to beat it, unless you really like that one then it’ll be heaven, but there was too much sidequest activity and only one or two interesting events on each disc…
the game to play would have to be FFVII. Not too simple, not too long, balanced gameplay, original and modern, the best…
