I don’t know…but when I first turn on my PS2, then put a game in, it makes this continuous clicking noise trying to read it…and it won’t read! So then I open it again, and put it back, in, and it will be fine…relatively. I don’t know, it keeps happening more often, and I’m getting scared. 🙁

Did this happen to any of you? What should I do about it?

I suggest calling up Sony. Maybe you got a DRE… you know, a Disc Read Error. It’s be plaguing PS2’s for awhile.

If it’s within warranty, i’d get a replacement…

Sony are pumping out PS2s for peanuts at the moment. I’m sure they won’t mind issuing another one.

I had the same problem with my PS2 a while back, kept giving me disc read errors. I checked the Sony website and you can send it in for repair for like $180, apparently some versions have a faulty lens. Hopefully you still got warranty…..

I heard that you don’t need to pay for the repair since there was a lawsuit about it. Sony said they WILL repair it unless it was chipped.

Of course you can return to Sony – my friend did it with his PS2, when it was faulty. Who do you think the store orders it from?

My friend had the same problem recently. He took it to an indy shop to get repaired but they said his ps2 was an old model and as most you have probably heard, some of the older modles don’t read the newer games. The shop said his ps2 was pretty much f*cked so he paid a little bit of money, they took his ps2 off him to use it as parts and my friend got a new ps2.

I have a different problem, when I watch DVD’s the color is normal, but then the color changes to a tintish brown and back to the regular color and back to tint but the games are fine for it.

Does any one know what’s wrong?

Sounds like you have you’re PS2 hooked up through a VCR… it will do that if you try to hook it up that way.

I would either
1. Get a modulator and hook it up that way.

2. Get a different type of cable for the PS2 that hooks up through coaxle instead of through audio video plugs.
