so, im confused, is rei an angel?

You might want to mark a spoiler next time, but yeh let me think here…..been a while since I’ve seen it. Theres a lot to Evangelion, you forget everything when you don’t watch it.

I believe she was part of the human instrumentality project, she was copied from Shinji’s mother, actually there were many copies of her. I’m pretty sure she wasn’t an angel, just used as an experimental pilot for EVA.

If I remember correctly the movie (and maybe the show) said humans were the last angel, therefore she as well as everybody else was an angel.

I don’t remember that part saying she is an angel. But she wasnt one unless you are thinking like that. She was a clone of some sort. Was it Shinji’s mother? I forgot. I thought it was something like a close from that thing they kept locked away. Wow, iI really need to watch that show again.

She wasn’t exactly a clone…She was suppose to be a vessel for Shinji’s mother’s spirit. But if you watch the movies, it can be inferred that she is suppose to be an angel as is Karu (I think they’re suppose to be the same angel, seeing as how Karu hinted to her when he said she and he were a lot a like in the TV show). If you watch the movie you’ll see Karu comes back.

From all the analysis I’ve read and what I’ve seen: there’s so many possibilities that the only way to ever figure out all this stuff would be to ask the original manga artist…

Frm i wad heard frm my fren.. he says tat Gendo Ikari wans ta like control his own world (sumthink like tat) an he needs Rei ta do so.. but in the EOE movie.. Rei rejected em and chose Shinji instead.. i may b wrong though

see, i thouight she was an angel cause in the episode where shinji kills karou(i think that how you spell it) she kinda just warped into central dogma

Rai was human but in the movie did you see how she was floating in a tank that was the tank of death in the sephronic tree of life so that is why everyone sore rai when the world was purifyed so she became a angel
