Maechen (Major Spoilers)

So how surprised were you to find out that Maechen is an unsent? I must say, it really surprised me. I guess I shoulda known, but I just never guessed it. What a cool dude. I guess he never accepted his death – I wonder how he died?

i was thinking maybe…became more obvious throughout the game…

i was kinda sad he went away. i’m like, "no!! explain more of the plot to me, maechen!! i love plot!!"

i never thought he was a boring old man. he had awesome background information that helped me understand ffx and ffx-2 better!

sad fact, but not even HE himself would know.. .. or remember.. .. .. he has been around for too long… now after reading this post/poll, i’m starting to wonder if he was alive back when he shook Lenne’s hand..

I think so! Remember the sphere that you first found at Mt. Gagazet? You heard a young-sounding man saying "I can’t believe I actually got to shake her hand!" Then it cuts off and Paine’s all "It’s a dud." The man in the sphere had to have been Maechen.

Anyway, I too loved listening to him, and I never thought of him as boring… And as for his death, he probably died in the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle… But then again he was young in the sphere that must have taken place just a little before the war, so he might have died after, but who knows…

I had no clue up until that Zanarkand scenario.
