I dunno how many new character will be in it o_O Playable will be Paine though ^.^ She’s pretty new :B And ofcourse the new NPC’s will be walking around.
It takes place two years after the events in FFX, so as you can imagine the world has changed bigtime.

Ahh, plus some of the NPC’s are different, yet have the same voice-actor as different NPC’s from FFX, O_o, such as Yaibol of FFX-2 has the same voice as Gatta of FFX…
And the entire cast of the original (minus the misecellaneous characters that just wandered around the city) makes at least a cameo appearance in this one.
FFX-2=less playable chars, more monster varieties, mostly the same places from ffx-2 except there are new routes in some of the old places,a whole lotta skillz, lack of weapon varieties, insanely short game and not to forget lots of cute girls.

lol, i guess i got to get it and try it out for myself, and for that it is a short game thing, i can make the most out of it
