Suikoden Card Stories

I got it recently. Best card game ever.

Never heard of a cardgame. What’s it like? the battlesystem, or a real rpg?

I would play it if I had more knowledge of the Japanese language. 🙁

It doesn’t play like an RPG. Navigation is handled like a text adventure. There are dungeons you can wander around in to battle and get new cards, and those are random like the various Chunsoft games . Different each time you go in them, and they also have special characters to battle littered around them.

You basically try and build a complete collection of cards while going through the Suikoden 2 story, with card battles taking the place of wars and dungeon romps you went through in the actual game.

My knowledge of japanese isn’t good at all, but I’ve already beaten the game several times(it has new game+ mode) and I had little trouble figuring out how to play.

Have you ever played Card Fighters Clash for the NeoGeo Pocket? THAT is the best card game ever. I think I logged over 100 hours on it… on just one of the many different times I’ve played through it.

I wonder what it is with the Japanese and "cards," anyway? It seems like an awfully random thing to have a whole genre of games for.

Card Stories is the only one I’ve played as I never really thought to look into any card games in the past. Just checked my save though and I’m currently at 113 hours.

Me saying its the best card game ever while never playing any other card games is just my little joke.

Well CFC is the only one I’ve ever played too, so yeah.
