I just recently bought the orchestra and piano soundtracks for the final fantasy series and i must say they are excellent. Does anyone else own them?

What do you think of them, i personally think most of the songs are better than the originals in the games. I would also like to see one of the final fantasy games done with a full orchestra soundtrack.

What does everyone else think of them?

What games do they come from, because i like orchestra music even though i play guitar and drums and i listen to Metallica, Venom and Slayer. And where can i get them?

The songs are from the entire FF series, you can get them from most online stores (I got mine from Amazon). You could probaly find them on something like Kazaa as well.

They’re some of the best I’ve ever listened to. 🙂 Almost half my CD collection is made up of Final Fantasy music. The 20020220 is definitely one of my favorites; its a recording of a concert (given the same name) from Tokyou last year that featured purely Final Fantasy music from FF1 to FF10.

Of the piano collections, FF9 and FF6 get my vote. If I ever feel like I need to relax, FF9 always does it for me. 🙂

I’m very interested in this Piano soundtrack you speak of, what is the actual title? I may go look for it on Ebay or Amazon myself.

Final Fantasy IV Piano Collections
Final Fantasy V Piano Collections
Final Fantasy VI Piano Collections
Final Fantasy VI Piano Collections: Grand Finale
Final Fantasy IX Piano Collections
Final Fantasy X Piano Collections

The orchestral recordings go under titles such as

Final Fantasy: Potion
Final Fantasy: Potion 2
Final Fantasy; Celtic Moon

… and a few others. Those are the ones I can think of right off the top of my head. 🙂

I really would like to get atleast a copy of one. It would be fun also to try to figure out how they did it (sound effects). Especially since you can tap the cello in a certain way and it will sound like a heartbeat. Anyway, has anyone see them anywhere besides online?

Just be aware that what you are getting is the real, officially licenced CDs, and not the cheap Taiwanese bootlegs by pirates like Ever Anime, Son May and others. The official Japanese FF CDs are produced by either NTT Publishing/Polystar (FFI-VI) and Digicube (FFVII and up).

Tokyopop also has a released a few officially licenced CDs in the US (single disc compliations of FFIX and X’s OSTs, plus the complete OST for FFIV and the two orchestral compliations of FF ‘N’ and ‘S’ Generations). If a FF CD says anything else on the spine and front cover besides the above, it’s most likely a pirated CD which isn’t worth your money.
